Player's Responsibility To Check Draws
It is the player's responsibility to know their 1st match and future match times and show up in a timely manner. Please, report to Les Myers Park (LMP)) before 1st Round of Play. ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR LATENESS. Contact the tournament desk ASAP if you are having directional issues (704 806 0909). Withdrawals and defaults MAY occur through out the weekend. Lastly, please FAMILIARIZE yourself with CONSOLATION rules of play. It can be confusing at times. Communication with tournament director is key, so that calm heads prevail during the tournament.

Quickstart Parent Volunteers
Parents will be helping with score keeping and other organizational needs of youngster associated with tournament play. Parents will not be on the court with other children, but assist in other young people. Matches will begin at 12 and continue through 2pm, weather permitting !!! THANK YOU !!!

Format & Scoring
The format is FMLC (First Match Loser Consolation). Main draw and Consolation will play the best 2 out of 3 set playing a Match Tie-Breaker (1st to 10points winning by 2) for the 3rd set.

Short Set Scoring (If Needed)
Players and Parents familiarize yourselves with Short Set Scoring for Singles main draw and consolation. Shorts Set is played regular scoring, first to win 4 games by 2. Set-Tiebreaker (12pt) played at 4-4 and Match Tiebreaker (10pnt) in lieu of the 3rd set.

MANDATORY Parent Education Forum
PARENT EDUCATION FORUM
Required for all 10’s & 12’s playing in Futures tournaments. At least one parent or guardian of a child planning to enter the 10’s or the 12’s of Futures Tournaments, the 2010 Tar Heel Qualifier, and the 2010 North Carolina Junior State Closed must attend one session prior to the deadline of the tournament in order for the their child to be eligible to play in the above

Coach David Lash Sportsmanship Award
One Male and Female player will be awarded the Coach David Lash Sportsmanship Award at the tournament. A player, parent, or spectator may nominate a player he/she sees displaying great sportsmanship characteristics on and off the courts. There will be a box at the tournament checkin and you may feel out a slip of paper and drop into the box. Near the end of the tournament, a ceremony will be held presenting the players with their award.

Friday Night Play
There will be FRIDAY NIGHT PLAY for some players. We will be working through weather over the weekend and wanting to see doubles played on Saturday afternoon. Look to have a clearing Friday evening. I will keep the tournament home page up to date during the course of the tournament. Please check the website before contacting by phone. Friday Play Is Good To Go At This Time
Any delays will be posted immediately when decision is made and throughout the course of the tournament.

One Hour Delay
All matches scheduled before Saturday, 1:59pm, excluding QUICKSTART CO-ED 8 Singles, are on a 1 hr delay. Meaning, if you are scheduled at Sat 8:30am, you are now scheduled fo 9:30am. If you are scheduled at 11am, you are now scheduled for play at 12pm. And so on, .... 8:30am matches, if you show up early and courts get dry early, you will be allowed to go on and begin play. Match times on the draws have not change. Make the delay based on your time on the draw.

Play Postponed Into Sunday
Rain Delay, plus radar showing threat of more rain to come in a few hrs forces us to postpone play into Sunday. Matches in progress will go on court by 9:30am. New match times will be scheduled before 9pm tonight.

Singles First
Singles Matches will be played before our Doubles play. Boys 16 Doubles has players that may or may not be in the finals so times are posted for the earliest that they will be able to play, allowing for opponents to arrive on site.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, March 7, 2010 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
