ROSCOE TANNER TO PLAY MENS 55 & BOOK SIGNING FRIDAY EVENING
Roscoe Tanner will play in the mens 55 division of this years tournament.
He reached a career-high world singles ranking of No. 4 in 1979. He serve was clocked at 153 mph at Palm Springs in 1978 during a match against Raul Ramirez. Tanner defeated Guillermo Vilas in three straight sets in the 1977 Australian Open final to win his first and only grand slam title. Tanner lost a five-setter to Bjorn Borg in the 1979 Wimbledon final.
Roscoe will also be signing copies of his book Double Fault: My Rise And Fall, And My Road Back! on Friday evening April 16 during the tournament.

COMAN TIEBREAKER WILL BE USED
THE COMAN TIEBREAKER WILL BE USED IN ALL MAIN DRAW AND CONSOLATION MATCHES IN ANY SET THAT REACHES 6 ALL AND IN THE 10 POINT MATCH TIEBREAK USED IN FOR THE THIRD SET IN CONSOLATION MATCHES. THE COMAN TIE-BREAK FORMAT:
The Coman tiebreak procedure is identical to the regular tiebreak procedure except that the players change ends after the first point and then after every four points, and at the conclusion of the tiebreak.
a) Set Tie Break: First to win 7 points by 2 wins “Game “ and “Set”
b) 3rd set Match Tie Break: First to win 10 points by 2, wins match.
c) The player whose turn it is to serve shall serve the first point from the deuce court.
d) After the first point, the players shall change ends and the following two points shall be served by the opponent(s) (in doubles, the player of the opposing team due to serve next) starting from the add court.
e) After this, each player/team shall serve alternately for two consecutive points (starting from the ad court) changing ends after every four points, until the end of the tie break game.
f) Switch sides after points 1,5,9,13,17..…. and at the conclusion.
THE TENNIS COMMITTEE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND ALL PLAYERS THAT ALL WHITE TENNIS ATTIRE MUST BE WORN. 10% COLOR TRIM IS PERMITTED. THIS APPLIES TO HATS VISORS, WRISTBANDS ETC.
SLEEVELESS SHIRTS FOR MEN ARE NOT PERMITTED. COLORED WARM UPS ARE ALLOWED. COLORED SHOES ARE ALLOWED AT 50%.

SCORING & DRAW FORMAT
*SINGLES DRAWS THAT HAVE 4 OR FEWER PLAYERS WILL USE A ROUND ROBIN FORMAT.
*LARGER SINGLES DRAWS WILL USE A FULL FEED CONSOLATION THROUGH THE QUARTERFINALS AND A PLAYOFF FOR THIRD AND FOURTH PLACE.
*MAIN DRAW MATCHES WILL BE 2 OUT OF 3 SETS REGULAR SCORING.
*CONSOLATION MATCHES THROUGH THE SEMI-FINALS WILL USE A 10 POINT TIE BREAK IN LIEU OF A 3RD SET.
*WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHANGE SCORING AS NEEDED IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER.

EASH YEAR $15,000 IS AWARDED IN TOTAL PRIZE MONEY IN THE SINGLES AND DOUBLES EVENTS. TROPHIES ARE AWARDED IN MIXED DOUBLES. THE PRIZE MONEY IS DISTRIBUTED BASED ON THE SIZE AND STRENGTH OF THE DRAWS.

consolation for singles! Draws with 4 players or less will have a
round robin draw. This is a National Level 2 Category
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
