New location for tournament!
The Park City Racquet Club will be undergoing a major renovation (total demolition of old building and brand new Rec Center in the works!) as of August 2010. Therefore, the Men's National 45s for November 2010 will be played at Salt Lake Swim & Tennis Club. Laurie Lambert will still be the tournament director, working with Ian Rothfels from the Salt Lake Tennis & Swim Club.
Salt Lake Swim & Tennis is 15 minutes from the Salt Lake Airport and is situated at 5000 feet altitude. High altitude balls are still used.

Directions to Salt Lake Swim & Tennis Club
Phone is 801-487-3206. The club is located 15 minutes from the Salt Lake Airport. Take I-80 East from the airport. You will merge onto I-15 for a bit, and then I-80 breaks off again. Follow directions for I-80 East as you cross Salt Lake City. Take the 1300 East exit (SugarHouse). At end of exit ramp, turn left onto 1300 East. Go up to the Sizzler and turn RIGHT onto 2100 South. Follow this up to the high school and turn RIGHT onto 1700 East. Cross over the freeway, and you will immediately see a down ramp to the club. Address is 2471 South 1700 East. Practice Courts
There will be balls and courts set aside all day Saturday and Sunday before the tournament starts for players to practice at no charge. Generally there is no problem with court availability. If you feel you must reserve a court at a certain time, you can call the front desk 2 weeks in advance to reserve your court. 801-487-3206. Cost will be $20/hr over the weekend. During the tournament, there will be 1 or 2 practice courts for players to use at no charge. If, during the tournament, you would like to reserve a practice court, the cost will be $25/hr. The club will be open until 9:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Singles Draw Posted
OK - guys - hope you love your draw! Main draw will play first, and then if you lose your first round, there will be another round of consolation matches later in the day. We will have 1 open court in the bubble and 2 courts in the main building for practice all day. First matches are at 9:00 - I'm so nice not to start you at 8:00! Practice courts and balls are set aside all weekend for you to get used to the courts. All matches will be in the bubble, not the main building. The tournament desk will be open Sunday night for check-in - but you are not required to check-in Sunday night. You can check-in 30 minutes before your match.

Player Party
The player party will be Monday evening at the Salt Lake Swim & Tennis Club. It will be a buffet with serving beginning at 6:00pm.

Doubles Seeding
Doubles seedings will be done using the "All Factors" method of seeding. Doubles seeding and draw will be done on Monday at noon, the first day of the tournament.

Matchplay Format
All matches, including consolation, will be best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring. In case of a tie-break, the Coman tiebreak will be used.

Play begins...
Play will begin at 8:00am on Monday, November 8. Please fly in on Sunday so you are ready to play Monday first thing.Tournament is scheduled to finish Friday morning if draw size is 64 or less. Most players will have 2 singles matches on Monday.

Hotel Info
The Homestead Studio Suites is the preferred hotel for the tournament. The rates are $49.99 night +tax for a single Queen size room and $59.99 night + tax for a Room with 2 Queen beds. All the rooms have well equipped kitchens (full fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, stovetop range and all the dishes included), free cable, free local calls and internet for $4.99. Doubles Draw & Deadline
Doubles entries will stay open until Monday, November 8 at 12:00. This allows for players to meet and pair up with other players who are entered into the tournament. The doubles draw will post mid-day Monday. If there are more than 16 teams, there will be play on Monday evening to get the draw down to 16 for Tuesday play.

Consolation Draws
Please be aware that both the singles and doubles draws have a full feed-in consolation draw. This means that players in the back draw will be playing 2 singles matches and then 2 doubles matches per day if they choose to participate in both consolation draws.

Towels & Water
The club does have towels if players need to use the showers at the locker room while they are playing. Water is on the court, and cups are available, but it is best if you bring your own water bottle.

Check-In
The tournament desk will be open from 4:00 - 6:00pm on Sunday, November 7 for player check-in. You are not required to check-in at this time. You may check-in before your first match.

Order of Play for matches
The tournament will begin singles matches at 8:00am Monday, November 8. The main draw doubles will be in the middle of the day Tuesday - Thursday. Order of play Tuesday - Thursday will be: main singles, 1st match cons. singles, main doubles, 2nd cons. singles, cons. doubles.

Prize Money
Unfortunately, because we are in a transition year...with Park City using Salt Lake courts, the sponsor for this year has bowed out. There will be no prize money this year. Sorry!

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, October 25, 2010 11:59:00 PM Mountain Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
