NEW SEEDING PROCESS
This tournament is now required to follow the ITF rules for seeding. This changes the "All Factors" process that has been used in the past. The following comes from the USTA and is the information the Referee is required to use for seeding:
For a complete list of ITF seniors rules, go to www.itftennis.com/seniors.
The seeding at ITF sanctioned tournaments is based on the ITF ranking of the players, with a few exceptions (wild cards, who can be seeded based on head to head results in both consolation and main draw of USTA and/or ITF sanctioned tournaments and other factors).
ITF ranking points are earned by winning main draw singles matches only. There are no ranking points earned for consolation matches. There are no ranking points earned for 3/4 playoffs. The point totals for your best four ITF sanctioned tournaments results are added together to calculate your ITF ranking.
There are not ITF rankings for doubles. USTA rules are used at this tournmaent to seed and rank doubles.
You could earn both an ITF and a USTA ranking in singles by playing in this tournament.
