CHECK-IN
All players must check in at least 30 minutes prior to their first match on Saturday, and 15 minutes before all subsequent matches.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Don't forget that daylight savings time ends at 2:00am on Sunday, November 1. Be sure to set your clock back one hour and get that extra hour of sleep before reporting for matches on Sunday! more info
SPECIAL HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION!!
Herrmann Tennis Academy will be hosting a Halloween Celebration for all competitors on Halloween night following the completion of play (approx 6:30pm). Please join us for Halloween festivities and snacks.
TOURNAMENT HOTEL
The Sheraton Chicago Northbrook Hotel is our host hotel. Located at 1110 Willow Road, Northbrook, IL the hotel is less than 2 miles from the Glenbrook Racquet Club. Newly built in 2008, the hotel is ideally situated in the upscale Willow Festival mall (hosting retail shops such as Starbucks, Potbellys, Whole Foods, CVS, REI, Best Buy and several nicer restaurants including Zapatistas and Pinstripes (Bocce, Bowling and Bistro).

Tournament rates for this hotel are $69/king and $89/two double beds.

FIRST MATCH TIMES
First Match times ARE POSTED. Draws will be posted after the first round of play on Saturday.
SELECTION
Tournament Selection for the Midwest Indoor Open Championship will be made on Tuesday, October, 20 by 6:00pm. A Numbered Alternate list will also be posted. Numbered alternates must contact us by 5:00pm CDT on Wednesday, October 21 to accept their position on the alternate list. Alternates may call (847-498-5333) or email (Jim@GlenbrookRacquetClub.net) Jim Kultgen. At that time we will require 2 telephone numbers at which you can be reached if a spot becomes available.

SEEDING
Seeding will be based on the October 22, 2009 B12 Midwest Standing List. Seeds will be posted by Friday, October 23 at noon.

WARM-UP COURTS
FRIDAY: A limited number of warm-up courts will be available on a first come, first serve basis on Friday afternoon and evening. Courts are available for $15/half hour, $25/hour.

SATURDAY and SUNDAY: Warm-up courts are available from 7am-8am for $10/half hour, and $20/hour. In order to accomodate all players wishing to warm up in the mornings, we will accept up to 4 players per court. If you plan to warm up with other competitors, please provide as many names as possible when reserving the court. If there are fewer than four players listed on any given court, we may assign additional players to those courts. Please contact Glenbrook Racquet Club at 847-498-5333 and let the desk staff know that you are booking warm-up courts for the tournament.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The tournament will be a 64-draw and includes a Feed-In Consolation. Players in the Consolation bracket may have to play up to three matches on Sunday. A total of 16 players in the semis, finals and FIC will be competing on Monday morning. Play could last through the early afternoon.
ORDER OF PLAY
Play begins at 8am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

SATURDAY: Main Draw - Round of 64 and Round of 32, FIC - First Round

SUNDAY: Main Draw - Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, FIC -2nd Round, Round 3 Qualifier, 3rd Round MONDAY: Semis, Finals and 3/4 Playoff, FIC - Quarterfinal Qualifier and Quarterfinals

SCORING
Scoring consists of two tiebreak sets (with a set tiebreak at 6 games all), following by a match tiebreak (first to 10 points, with a 2 point lead), in lieu of a third set.

We cannot contact you unless you provide us with your telephone numbers and your email address. The USTA Legal Department has determined that they cannot provide contact information to tournament directors unless the player provides the contact information during the on-line registration process. PLEASE provied an email address and telephone number when you register on-line.
REFUNDS
No refunds after Wednesday, October 21, 5:00pm CDT.
SIGNING UP FOR MORE THAN ONE EVENT
The USTA Code of Conduct and Suspension Point System is in effect. Players are expected to play the entire event as scheduled. All players will be given (5) suspension points for entering two or more tournaments that take place at the same time, in whole or in part, unless the player requests, and receives, IN WRITING permission from each Tournament Director.
2009 USTA/Midwest Section Seeding and Selection Criteria
Players will be selected based on the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List (October 15, 2009) at the time of the tournament entry deadliine . Players will be selected as follows: 1) Four (4) players from the top 100 of the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in next lower division. 2) Sixty (60) players from the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the current age division of the event. 3) Remaining vacancies and/or alternates will be selected from the USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the division of the event. Player selection and Numerical Alternate Listing will be posted on this tournament page on October 20, 2009.
USTA/Midwest Section Domicile Rules
The USTA/Midwest Section Closed Junior Championships, the District Championships, Designated Tournaments, Junior Davis Cup and Wightman Cup events are open to citizens of the U.S., permanent residet aliens in possession of a valid alien registration card, individuals who are applicants for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status and who can present a USCIS receipt for a pending unadjudicated form I-485, aliens who have resided continuously in the US for more than one year adn who are members of families of persons in the diplomatic or consular corps and aliens who have been granted Refugee Status, Asylee Status or Temporary Protected Status.
Notes
Level 2 Midwest USTA Point Per Round, Level 4 National Points Per Round This tournament is designed to bring together the top 12 and under Boys in the Midwest. Last years tournament had 64 players who were in the top 123 of the Midwest Section. Any player in the Midwest Section is encouraged to apply however in the past only players on the USTA/Midwest Section or USTA National Standings List have been accepted into the tournament.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
