I want to thank everyone for participating in the Thomas L. Cardella & Associates Midlands 2009 Adult tennis tournament. This year's Midlands is the largest adult tournament of 2009 in Iowa. I hope everyone had a great time at the tournament. The Panchero's Taco bar was a hit again this year as was the new "Family Fued" division. Matches will go as scheduled today at Klotz. Don't forget there will be a $7 indoor court fee for singles players and $3.50 fee for doubles.

Player Taco Party!!
There will be a player party on Saturday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 with chips and tacos sponsored by Pancheros Mexican Grill. The party will be held at the outdoor deck of Klotz Tennis Courts. Thank you to the Anderson Family for providing this party.

Family Fued Draw will be at tournament site
Play will START AT 6:30PM @ KLOTZ for FAMILY FEUD DIVISION............................
There has been an interest this year to have a "parent" and their "offspring" play in a doubles division. I plan on having this division this year as an unsanctioned event starting on Friday evening and concluding on Sunday afternoon. Cost will be $15 per player and will be played out in a Compass Draw. This will guarantee at least 3 matches if 8 teams participate, or 4 matches if 16 teams participate. The other major issue is that this is an "intermediate" division. It is supposed to be fun so I may decline some stronger than normal teams at least this year. Please call me if interested. 319-400-8857

DRAWS: All draws for all divisions will be

Seeds will be determined based on
emails with seeding info as well as past tournament performances. If emailing
seeding info please include match opponents NOT merely your result in the
tournament.
T-SHIRT: Will be given to all singles entrants or
two doubles entrants.
BALL: Official tournament ball will be
the Wilson US Open ball.
Code of Conduct: Tournament officials will be roaming
most sites and will be enforcing “the Code”.

Inclement Weather Issues
If matches would be forced to be played inside the $14 indoor court cost will be split amongst the players per match. Consolation singles may be canceled due to excessive weather related delays.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, August 12, 2009 6:00:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
