I want to express my sincere gratitude for the good sportsmanship displayed at the Tennessee State Closed Junior Championships this week. Also please join me in congratulating the girl's and boy's sportsmanship awards given this year. These awards are given each year and are in recognition of great sportsmanship shown throughout the tournament. Bronte Goodhue is the girl's winner and Nathan Stein is the boy's winner.

Doubles Draws and Partner update TWO
No doubles will be played on Saturday. All doubles' events now have 16 teams or fewer. The doubles draws will be published on Friday. The first doubles matches will play Sunday morning at 8:00 am if there are enough courts to handle all of the matches. If we don't then some will follow the 8:00 am matches. For those players entered in doubles I will pair them up by lot. If there is an odd numberof players without partners the player not paired up will be put in the alternate list.

Seeds Updated
Based on the latest USTA Southern Standings the preliminary seeds have been updated. Primary changes occurred in the B18 and G10. The All Factors Method of seeding is used to determine the seeding. It is based on the player's chances of winning the tournament as determined by the Tournament Committee. The committee considers all reasonably available information, including ranking lists, standing lists, recent records, types of surface, and particularly head-to-head encounters. If you have additional information, please contact the tournament referee.
