QUICKSTART TENNIS:: TEN and UNDER and COED EIGHT and UNDER EVENTS
QuickStart Tennis is a special format to help kids ten and under learn and play the game of tennis. All players in the COED 8 & Under age group will play the new Quick Start Format using the 36 foot court. The court is shorter and narrower, the net height is lower, and they will also use foam balls with a softer bounce. ALSO the Boys and Girls 10 and Under will use the Quickstart Tennis Format playing on the shortened 60 foot court with softer balls and short set scorting. ANY 10 AND UNDER PLAYERS WANTING TO PLAY ON A REGULAR SIZE COURT WITH REGULAR SETS AND SCORING SHOULD PLAY UP IN THE 12 AND UNDER DIVISIONS.

CHALLENGER CIRCUIT REGULATIONS
CHALLENGER CIRCUIT ELIGIBILITY Rules: Any player not ranked in the TOP 25 of the age division they wish to play, may play in the Challenger Circuit EVENTS. (Using most current standing list published at the end of the month previous to the event). Playing up in an age division is now allowed, as long as you are not in the top 25 of the current standings for that age division. Final Year End Rankings do not apply to this circuit, JUST CURRENT STANDINGS.

LEVEL 4 SOUTH CAROLINA TOURNAMENTS: DEFINITIONS AND ELIGIBILITY
DEFINITION AND ELIGIBILITY OF CHALLENGER Level IV Tournaments*******
The Challenger circuit is a series of sanctioned tournaments that count toward a regular state ranking and its purpose is to provide opportunities for beginning junior players to gain tournament experience against equal level competition. This program intends to act as a feeder system into regular USTA South Carolina Junior Tournaments by allowing players to participate in both singles and doubles events with a minimum of three matches played per player. To be eligible for this circuit, the player must be a USTA member and their current South Carolina standing must be outside of the top 25 of the age division in which they wish to participate. Playing up in an age division is permitted so long as the player is not in the top 25 of the current standings for that age division.

USTA RULES AND MATCHPLAY FORMAT
RULES AND MATCHPLAY will be in accordance with the 2009 USTA rules and regulations contained the Friend At Court manual. Draws are limited to 32 in each division. Singles will be a feed in draw with consolations. Each singles player will play two rounds of matches before elimination. Matches will be the best of 2 regular sets with a 10 point tiebreak game for a third set if needed. Doubles will be a single elimination format with matches being an 8 game pro set (a 7 point tiebreak at 8 games all).

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:***In the event of inclement or excessively hot weather which interrupts match play, the tournament committee may change the scoring format to a shortened format or cancel certain events in order to complete the tournament. ANY AND ALL CHANGES WILL BE POSTED AT THE TOURNAMENT SITE AND ON THE TOURNAMENT WEBPAGE SO PLAYERS WILL BE NOTIFIED PROMPTLY.

AWARDS FOR COMPETITION AND FOR SPORTSMANSHIP
Awards will given to winners and finalists in Singles Main Draw and to winners of Consolation Singles, and to winners and finalists in Doubles. A SPECIAL SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WILL BE GIVEN TO A BOY AND A GIRL EXHIBITING THE BEST TENNIS SPORTMANSHIP DURING THE TOURNAMENT.

DRAWS AND STARTING TIMES::
Play will begin Saturday August 15 at 8:30AM. Players FIRST match times will be available online after 5PM THURSDAY - August 13. FIRST Match times will be posted on the webpage as a report, Future Match Info Report, with players listed alphabetically with their times. Draws will be posted online FRIDAY August 14 after 12NOONPM. Players may get their match times also by calling LCTC NOT BEFORE FRIDAY 9AM-5PM at 803-957-7676. PLAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING THEIR OWN MATCH TIMES.

LEXINGTON COUNTY TENNIS COMPLEX******
Lexington County Tennis Complex is a state of the art public facility featuring 21 lighted courts, a stadium court, locker rooms with showers, water on the courts, full stocked pro shop and ice machines. LCTC was voted Municipal Facility of the Year 2004, and Public Facility of the Year 2003 by the USTA, and A Top 50 Tennis Welcome Center in the USA 2006.
