2nd Last Update

The Coquitlam Junior Open Championship is essentially completed except for a couple of girls challenger finals which will eventually get played. I want to thank every participants and their parents for their support, cooperation and patience over the 8 days of competition.

Challenger Draws for Saturday

Match times are now up for Saturday, August 30.

2:30 pm Update

Matches will start from 4:00 pm. Please add 2 hours to your Friday match times. For example if your original match time is at 4:00 pm, then the revised time will be at 6:00 pm.

12:30 pm Update

The rain has been on and off. The next update and last call will be at 2:30 pm.

Fri., Aug 29 - 10 am

It's still raining, but forecast is still for drying spell this afternoon. There is a possibility that the 2 pm start will not be on time. Will make another update at 12:30 pm.

Thur., Aug 28 - Challenger Draws

According to the weather forecast on radio, the rain will continues until mid day tomorrow, with sunny breaks in the afternoon. I have scheduled Friday match times to start in the afternoon. Singles draws will take priority over doubles for the boys events (only 1 doubles match has been scheduled). Please check back in the morning for the weather update at 10 am even if you don't have a doubles match time. If Friday schedule goes ahead, all doubles draws will finish on Saturday.

12 noon - Update

All matches are cancelled for the day. Please check back at 8 pm for your revised match times for tomorrow.

Thur., Aug 28 - Rain Delay... Again!

Matches are on hold again due to bad weather. Next update will be 12 noon.

Challenger Draw for Thursday

Thursday match times are now updated. Pro-set (first to 8 games, tie-break at 7-7) will still be in effect. Thursday start times are from 9:30 am. Morning weather update will be at 7:30 am. There will be no consolation draws due to bad weather.

12:10 pm Update

Matches will be on at 1:30 pm onwards. Please see your revised schedule for today. Challenger matches will be one pro-set (first to 8 games). Champs matches will be on a third set super-tiebreaker.

10:30 am Update

It's still wet in Coquitlam, and all matches are still on hold. Next update is at 12 noon.

Wed., Aug 27 - Rain Delay

It's wet in Coquitlam. All matches are on hold. Next weather update is at 10:30 am.

Challenger & Champs Draws

Match times are up. Morning weather update will be at 7:15 am.

Tues., Aug 26 - Challenger Draws

Please check your times again for the challenger draws. Some match times have changed. Also note that everyone is playing one singles and one doubles in the challenger division.

Mon., Aug 25 - Challenger Draws

Match times for 8:30 am and 10:00 am on Tuesday will stay the same. There will be some changes to the rest of the scheduled match times. Please check back by 12 midnight or in the morning for your updated match times.

Mon., Aug 25 - Champs Draws

Updated times for the Champs draws are up. Some finals will have to be played on Wednesday.

2:00 pm Back on Schedule

Matches will get on in about 15 minutes. All afternoon matches will still be played as scheduled.

12:45 pm Rain Delay

It is raining in Coquitlam. Matches are on hold. Next update at 1:30 pm.

9 pm Update

Match times for Monday is now up. There is a possibility of a delay in the morning start times due to wet courts. Please check this website for an update at 7:30 am.

2 pm Rain Delay Update

It's a rainout day. All Sunday's matches will be rescheduled for Monday. Please check your new match times at 8:00 pm tonight.

11 am Rain Delay Update

Rain is still falling. All matches are still on hold. I will have one more update at 2:00 pm before calling it a day.

Sat., Aug 23 - Challenger Draws

First round match times for challenger draws are up. Wednesday times will be up by Monday 9:00 pm. Everyone is playing one singles and one doubles event. Make sure to check your doubles times. Bad weather over the next couple of days may affect the first round times for the challenger draws. Please check your match times periodically to ensure the most updated times.

Challenger draws will not be posted tonight. It will be posted by 11 pm on Saturday night.

Fri., Aug 22 - Boys Doubles

One more player is needed to play in the Boys 18 Champs doubles due to a withdrawal. One more player is also needed for the Boys U14 Challenger doubles due to an odd number of players. Please note there is no U12 doubles. Please contact me by email if you know anyone who is interested in playing doubles.

Please note: All players are entered into one singles and one doubles event. Please check your match times periodically to ensure you have the most current info. The Boys U14 doubles has been split into U14 and U12 categories.

This tournament is sanctioned by Tennis BC. Online registration at www.karelo.com. Closing date is August 16 at 11:59 pm. $42.00 entry fee includes singles and doubles. Draws are posted at 9 pm on August 20 for 'Champs' and August 22 for 'Challenger'.
