AUSTIN SUPER CHAMPIONSHIP MAJOR ZONE (SCMZ 16_18)

We are going to be playing singles first and then play doubles matches as time permits. First round singles matches report at 1:00 PM at UTW. First singles matches scheduled at ATA are starting now. First singles matches scheduled at LTHS matches will start at 2:00 PM. PARENTS, COACHES, PLAYERS: Due to continuing moisture and high levels of humidity anticipated, tournament play at ALL SITES will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a shortened format. 8:00 matches need to check in at their respective sites no later than 10:00 a.m. Matches originally scheduled for 9:00 a.m. should report no later than 11:00 a.m. 10:00, 11:00 & 12:00 matches should check in no later than 12:00 p.m. ALL OTHER MATCHES SHOULD CHECK IN AT THEIR ORIGINAL MATCH TIMES AS THE TOURNAMENT WILL ANTICIPATE CATCHING UP QUICKLY WITH A SHORTENED FORMAT FOR PLAY.

Should the Austin Super Champ Major Zone experience inclement weather, please call the Capital Area Tennis Association office by dialing (512) 443-1342 for ongoing weather and tournament updates. If you have Internet Access, it is preferred that you check the tournament homepage for ongoing updates for possible delays of match play.

Players: Please re-check your singles and doubles draws often. The tournament is receiving numerous withdrawals and draws are updated frequently as a result.

Players and Parents Be sure to bring everything you will need to play a full 3-set match...water, snacks etc. Water is not provided on court at most of the tournament sites.

BG18 Entering the Spring National Championship Only! Players who have entered both the BG18 Spring National Championship and the March SCMZ will receive no penalty points for withdrawing.

PARENTS: Hotel arrangements should be made as early as possible for this tournament. South x Southwest is in town beginning this same weekend and room availability will be tight.

Junior Rule Change: Effective March 1, 2009 - All consolation matches in Championship and Super Championship Major Zones will play best of three sets with a 10-point tiebreaker in lieu of the third set.
