Raleigh Tennis Association Junior Futures

Please check on the draw for the code that refers to your match location. All matches on Friday are at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center. On Saturday there are 5 locations and on Sunday there are 3 locations.

1. Water - Bring a water jug full of ice water. It's going to be hot this weekend! 2. Sunscreen - Put on sunscreen and reapply between matches. 3. 2nd racquet - Bring a second racquet in case the first one breaks. 4. Towel - Bring one 5. Check in to the tournament desk at least 30 minutes before your match, your match may start early. If you're late, you will be penalized, if you're more than 15 minutes late you will be defaulted. 6. Officials - If you have questions during your match signal the on site roving official/umpire and they will come answer your question, do not leave the court without talking to the roving official. 7. Eat a good breakfast and come have fun playing this weekend!

Boys' 14's singles will play matches on Saturday at Sanderson High School (Optimist Park) tennis courts. 5900 Dixon Dr. From 440 take Six Forks Rd North exit for 2 miles, turn left on Millbrook Rd. for ¾ mile, turn right on Dixon Dr., turn right into Sanderson High School and courts are located at the end of the parking lot. Boys' 16's singles will play matches on Saturday at Lions Park tennis courts, 516 Dennis Ave. From downtown take Capital Blvd. north. Look for Dunkin Donuts. At the stoplight turn right on Fenton St. Go ½ mile, turn right on Watkins St. for one block, turn left on Dennis Ave. The park is on the right. Girls 16's + Boys' 18's singles will play matches on Saturday at Worthdale Community Center tennis courts. Worthdale Park, 1001 Cooper Road, Take 440 east to Poole Road Exit. Head into town. Go 1 ½ miles. Turn left on Cooper Rd. Worthdale Park is at the end of Cooper Rd. Directions are also available at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center. Here is a map of that location. more info

Girls 14's singles will play matches on Saturday at Pullen Park tennis courts. Pullen Park, 520 Ashe Ave., Take 440 south to the Hillsborough St exit. Head into town. (Inside the beltline) Go 3 miles. You will pass N.C. State Campus on your right. At the end of the campus turn right on Pullen Rd. Look for the N.C. State Bell Tower. Stay on Pullen Rd. The tennis courts will be on the left side of the road just after you pass over the railroad tracks. Directions are also available at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center. The Medical Release is required by USTA/NC prior to playing matches. Parent or guardian must sign. Please click on the link below to print form. Bring the signed Medical Release form with you to registration. more info

Players may report directly to their first match site to check in and drop off their waiver form. Blank waivers will be available at each site.

It is the player's responsibility to know their next match time and show up in a timely manner. Check the website often for updated match times.

A tournament t-shirt will be given to each participant when you fill out and drop off your waiver at your tournament site location.

6" Subway subs will be brought to each location before 12noon on Saturday along with drinks. There will be turkey or ham with cheese, lettuce and tomato. You can pull off what you don't like. There will be mayo + mustard packets too. Please bring your own lunch if you don't want to eat this so that you can stay at your location until you are done with the tournament.

All doubles matches will be played Friday. First matches for some will start at 5pm, 2nd round and those with first round byes will play at 6pm. If needed, the third round will be at 7pm. The doubles matches will be 8 game pro sets with regular scoring. The doubles draws are single elimination meaning once you've lost, you're done with doubles.

The format will be 2 out of 3 sets with the 3rd set being a 10 point match tie-break. Players may play up to 3 matches on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. Anyone who loses their very first singles match will be in the singles consolation tournament and may also play up to 3 matches a day.

Futures Junior Tournaments are open to all players except those with the following state standings: Boys&Girls 10's 1-10, Boys&Girls 12's, 14's, 16's 1-80, Boys&Girls 18's 1-50 Standings used to determine eligibility for a novice event are the Final Standings from the month prior to the tournament’s entry deadline. The final standings of a month are the standings published on or near the last day of that month. Once a player is ineligible s/he may become eligible again if his/her ranking falls outside the above standing range . A PLAYER INELIGIBLE TO PLAY FUTURES IN ANY AGE DIVISION IS INELIGIBLE TO PLAY FUTURES IN ALL AGE DIVISIONS. more info
