The City of Myrtle Beach Fall Challenger – SC L4
The City of Myrtle Beach Fall Challenger – SC L4 was completed Oct. 10-12 at the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center. Pictures of all tournament winners can be found on their Web site www.myrtlebeachtennis.com. This sanctioned singles event had 39 total players including 20 local juniors. Final results were:
Boy’s 10 Singles: Maxx Middle (Wilmington, N.C.) defeated Noah Scharf (Hampstead, N.C.) 6-0, 6-0 in the finals. In the consolation, John Cahill defeated Tyler Jackson (Florence) in the finals 6-7, 6-1, (1-0).
Boy’s 12 Singles: Connor Barr won the round-robin event by defeating players from Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. and Wilmington, N.C.
Boy’s 14 Singles: No. 2 seeded Kyle Barr upset the No. 1 seed from Greer in the finals 6-0, 6-4. In the consolation, Jaz Greene defeated Robert Ferraro 6-1, 6-1 in the finals.
Boy’s 18 Singles: Zachary Johnson won the round-robin event by defeating Nicholas Rierson and Ken Etheridge.
Girl’s 10 Singles: No. 1 seeded Marie Benedetti defeated the No. 2 seeded Victoria Smith 6-4, 7-5 in the finals. In the consolation, Marena Willeford (Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.) defeated Kayke Jordan 7-6, 6-0 in the finals.
Girl’s 12 Singles: Elizabeth Spielvogel won the round-robin event by defeating Caitlyn Wolf and Caroline Gore.
Girl’s 14 Singles: Sarah Elliott won the round-robin event by defeating Carolyn Gore and Sierra Willeford from Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.
Girl’s 16 Singles: Faith Baxley (Mullins) won the round-robin event by defeating Jessie Mae Dumas, Tori Jordan, and Breanna Willeford from Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.
