Welcome
This is the 25th annual Kiawah Island Junior Clay Court Championship co-sponsored by K-Swiss, Coca-Cola Bottling, Cons., and Image Network. It has grown to be one of the largest tournaments in the South. All participants will be given a tournament t-shirt. Bananas, hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts will be offered daily. Lunch will be sold at the West Beach Tennis Club on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 – 1:30pm.

MATCH CHECK IN AND REGISTRATION
Registration will be available Friday.October 10th at 12pm at the West Beach Tennis Club. You must register and have your medical release turned in and pick up your packet before checking in for your first match. You must also check in for each match 30 minutes before scheduled time. All players must check in for their matches at the WEST BEACH TENNIS CLUB for every match.

Seeding
The seeding committee shall consider all available evidence including, but not limited to standings, current records, common opponents, and PARTICULARLY recent HEAD-TO-HEAD ENCOUNTERS.

Inclement Weather
In case of inclement weather tournament officials reserve the right to use a 10 point match tie-breaker in lieu of the third set FOR ALL EVENTS AND ROUNDS. We also can use No-Ad for singles and doubles.

Tournament Level
This tournament is a USTA Southern Level 3 tournament and a South Carolina Level 2 tournament.

Doubles Ranking Points
You will receive ranking points from your doubles results at a USTA
National Level 5 towards your combined ranking.

Play on Friday
Due to the large draws many first round matches will have to be played on Friday afternoon,
October 10, starting as early as 2:30pm. The majority of semis and finals will have to be played on Monday, October 13.

Selection Process
In draws of 32 the top 32 players applying from the USTA/Southern latest STANDINGS LIST will be selected consisting of a minimum of 28 players from the current age group and up to 4 players from the younger age group who meet the criteria: they are eligible for the younger age group they have a southern standing in the top 40 of the younger age group, and are not already in the selected 28. In draws of 64(Boys & Girls 14’s singles) selections will be a minimum of 56 from the current age group and up to 8 players from the younger age group who do not get in the first 56,and who are in the top 80 of the Southern Standings in the lower age group at the time of selection. This applies to all age groups except the 10's. The 10's selection criteria will be strictly from the Southern Standings. ALL COMPETITORS are selected by the USTA Southern section. ONCE YOU ARE SELECTED INTO AN AGE DIVISION, NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE. The names of the players who have been selected appear as COMPETITORS. Alternates are listed in the REPORT SECTION. DO NOT REFER TO THE ALTERNATES ON THE FAR LEFT SIDE OF THE WEB PAGE. Alternates-Accepted and On Site that are accepted in the tournament will be placed into the draw (as long they do not affect the seeding) and will be notified by the tournament. See additional information below for onsite alternates. Please check list daily as they are updated as we have new information.

Withdrawals
No refunds will be made for withdraws after October 3rd. Withdrawals prior to the deadline must be done on-line under “edit registration”.

First match Times
Starting times may be obtained by checking the tournament homepage or by call the Roy Barth
Tennis Center after 1:00pm on Monday, October 6 at 843-768-2838. Due to the large tournament many first round matches will have to played on Friday afternoon, October 10
as early as 1:00pm.

Consolation Information
NO CONSOLATION matches for the 14’s, 16’s, and 18’s. There will be a one ‘first match losers only’ consolation match for the boys and girls 10’s and 12’s singles events which will be held on
Sunday.
|
No Third Set
A 10 POINT MATCH TIE-BREAKER will be used instead of a 3rd set for all 10s singles and up until the quarter-finals for boys and girls 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s singles matches.

Playoff for 3rd and 4th
There will be a mandatory playoff for 3rd and 4th place in all singles divisions.

Draw Limits
The draws will be limited on the follow draw sizes:
Boys and Girls Singles: 10s: 32 12s: 32 14s: 64 16s: 32 18s: 32
Boys & Girls Doubles: 10s: 16 12s: 16 14s: 32 16s: 16 18s: 16

Player Selection
Player will be selected based on their year-to-date Southern standings at the time of selection.

Entering Two Events
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected in both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected in the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either division would remain on the alternate’s lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the alternates list. They would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for one division no changes can be made.

Doubles
All players must sign up online with their partner before the deadline. You will need your partner’s USTA number to register with them online. An 8 game pro set will be used for
doubles except the finals. The finals will have a 10 point match tie break in lieu of the 3rd set.
THERE IS NO SIGNUP AT THE TOURNAMENT FOR DOUBLES. If you need a partner and want the
Tournament to assign you one, you must email jonathan_barth@kiawahresort.com or call (843)768-6028.

Doubles Sign Up and Alternates List
If you were not selected for singles and are on the alternates list, you were also not selected for doubles. However, if you would still like to play doubles you need to e-mail Jonathan Barth at
Jonathan_barth@kiawahresort.com or call 843-768-2838 and talk to Jonathan Barth or David Boyd soon as possible. The fee for doubles only will be $27.13.

Special Tournament Villa Rates
Special accommodation rates are available in one, two, or three bedroom villas. One bedroom
Villas are $155/night two bedroom villas are $187/night, and three bedroom villas are $203/night. Rates are based on availability and are subject to an 11.5% tax and an 8% service fee.
Call reservations at 800-654-2924 and ask for the Junior Tournament villa rate and ask for booking number 7059. If you are not accepted into the tournament you will be able to cancel your accomodations by October 2nd and your villa deposit will be refunded. You MUST cancel your reservation by October 2nd to receive the refund.

General
Tournament headquarters will be at the West Beach Tennis Club. All matches will be played on 34 Har-tru courts between the West Beach Tennis Center, the Roy Barth Tennis Center, and Seabrook Island. For any questions please call the Roy Barth Tennis Center at (843)768-2838.

Withdrawals
The entry fee will not be refunded after the deadline unless you were not accepted into the draw.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament. If you enter this tournament and are not eligible, any refund is as the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only USTA members can register online if available.
