WOFFORD COLLEGE TENNIS
Wofford College has been involved in tennis for almost 100 years. The program has grown from an on-campus tournament that both students and professors played in to one of the finest programs in the NCAA Division I.
Rod Ray is entering his ninth campaign as Wofford’s head men’s tennis coach. He also served as the Terriers' head women's coach the last eight seasons, through 2007-08. He has been a prominent fixture in tennis in South Carolina. He has served as coach of the South Carolina Junior Davis/Federation Cup Team, USTA Junior Player Development Program, Zonal Coach and as president of the South Carolina Tennis Professional Association. In 1998, Ray was named South Carolina Tennis Association Professional of the Year.
Katie Hangstefer is in her first season as Wofford's head women’s tennis coach in 2008-09. Hangstefer had joined the Terrier tennis staff in September 2007 as an assistant to head coach Rod Ray before her promotion in May 2008.

SC TENNIS PATRONS FOUNDATION (SCTPF)
Tennis has a proud history in South Carolina, and much of this history can be found in the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame. Establishing a state hall of fame was the idea and goal of Jim Russell, South Carolina Tennis Association President in 1983 & 1984. Russell established the South Carolina Tennis Patrons Foundation, which was originally organized to support the Hall of Fame, and named Rex Maynard the first chairman. This foundation has since grown to not only maintain our beautiful, newly remodeled SC Tennis Hall of Fame in Belton, but also supports South Carolina Junior Tennis with 8 Kids at Risk Grants, 3 College Scholarships,Junior PLayer Grants, USTA SC Player Development and High School Individual Championships.
