2006 TAPPS TENNIS TOURNAMENT This is the 2006 Texas Private and Parochial Schools Championships. 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A Champions from each District (top four) in Texas will compete for the State Championship Title. This tournament will take place at Baylor University Streich Courts, Robinson High School, MCC, Midway High School and the Waco Regional Tennis Center. CONGRATULATIONS ON QUALIFYING FOR THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

1A - BU Streich Tennis Courts - Strch Streich Courts are located off I35 east on University Parks Drive (1/2 Mile on left). Site Director: Jason Carver - Phone# 254 733 7877

2A - Robinson High School Courts - RHS Robinson High School Tennis Courts are located in Robinson! Not far from Waco. From I35 head east on Hwy 77 (At roundabout/Circle) for about 3.1 miles to Foster Ave in Robinson off Hwy 77 take a right and courts will be on your left 1/4 mile. 3A - Midway High School Tennis Courts - MHS Midway High School Courts are located off Hewitt Drive and Panther Way. From I35 take the 328 exit west. That road is Sun Valley. Take a right on Hewitt Drive and a right at the first light(Panther Way) courts will be on the left ¼ mile. Site Director : Andy Price ph# 254 716-2098

4A-5A - Waco Regional Tennis Center - WRTC Waco Regional Tennis Center is located off Lake Shore Drive. From I35 take MLK West along North side of Brazos River to Lake Shore Drive (app. 3 miles) take a left - tennis center 1/4 mile on left. 6A - McLennan Community College Courts- MCC MCC Courts are located off Lake Shore Drive (very close to Waco Regional Tennis Center). From I35 take MLK West along north side of Brazos River to Lake Shore Drive (app. 3 miles) take a left on Lake Shore go past the Regional Tennis Center (on Left) and take the first left after you cross the river. Like last year - because of the large number of matches on Friday... All Friday Matches will be best of three sets with a SUPER TIE-BREAKER for the third set. Super Tie-breakers are like regular tie-breakers except you play to ten (10). You must still win the tie-break by two (2) or more points. All Saturday matches (weather permitting) will be best of three sets full sets.

ALL SATURDAY MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED AT THE WACO REGIONAL TENNIS CENTER. FRIDAY MATCHES WILL BE AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

Coaches Meeting: There is no coaches meeting. Report to your First Round match 30 minutes prior to posted starting time. In the event of rain contact you site director.

Brackets(Draw): Will be posted on the TAPPS web site on April 18, 2006 AFTER 3PM As per the TAPPS rules we have based the seeding on last years results AND this years AND previous years results. You will notice that many draws have the multiple #1, #2 and/or #3 seeds - this is because we placed many of the top finishers as the same seeds. Our goal was to separate all players from the same schools and districts and hopefully have the strongest players playing each other for the finals.

Admission: There will be no admission charged for the State Tennis Tournament. Fees: There will be $20.00 fee per player entry fee at the State Tournament. Make check payable to TAPPS and pay upon arrival. Use form on page 49 of the forms manual.

T-Shirts: Official TAPPS T-Shirts will be for sale for $15.00 for short sleeves and $18.00 for long sleeves. Sizes will be available.

Officials: USTA Officials will officiate the tournament, and rules of the United States Tennis Association shall prevail, with exceptions noted in the TAPPS Manual. Please respect your officails at all times. If you have any questions concerning rules or procedures your site officials will be ready to help.

Balls: EACH ENTRY MUST BRING A NEW CAN OF BALLS. For each contest, only one can of balls will be opened. At the conclusion of each match, the loser will take the used balls; the winner will take the unopened can of new balls to the next match. BRING TENNIS BALLS!!!

Scoring for Team championships: If player (doubles) is eliminated - 1) in the first round - 1 point 2) in the second round - 2 points 3) in the third round - 5 points 4) in the Championship round - 8 points 5) The State Champion receives - 12 points All points are added to determine team standing in Boys and Girls Divisions.

Sportsmanship: All players, teams, coaches and fans shall exhibit good sportsmanship and proper tennis etiquette. Specific care should be given to improper cheering or "Razzing".
