2020 HOPE OPEN IMPORTANT INFO & UPDATE
The 2020 Hope Open is officially set for October 10-11. Tennis tournaments around the state have resumed playing (with limitations) and we could not be more excited to host the event in October. With that said, the event will look quite different this year due to covid protocols and local restrictions. The USTA has released information with recommendations on returning to play safely. This document can found by clicking the MORE INFO link at the end of this message and we will be implementing several of the guidelines. For example, we will not be hosting our typical Friday Family Fun Night or be allowed to serve/offer food from all of our amazing community sponsors. Essentially, this year's event will consist of tennis and pickleball play only, no large gatherings or meals will be permitted. These limitations are in place to do our part in keeping the community healthy and safe, but still raise money for the important ministry work that Living Alternatives provides. Please take a moment to review some important details below and thank you again for supporting the annual Hope Open benefiting Living Alternatives!
~ Play will be held on Saturday and Sunday only (October 10-11). No Friday matches or player party this year. ~ Both the tennis and pickleball events will still be offered ~ All players will still receive a goody bag and tournament shirt (they are really cool this year!!) ~ Entry fees have been lowered! We chose to drop the fee this year for two main reasons; we will not incur all of our normal expenses as we have done away with the player party and facility rentals, and we hope that the lower entry fee will still allow as many players as possible an opportunity to support our fundraising efforts as we are aware that many members of the community have been financially impacted by covid and government regulations. The new entry fee amounts are $30 for the first event, and $20 for the second event.
