SINGLES: FMLC
Main Draws: Best of 3 Tiebreak Sets with 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set NO playoff for the 3rd & 4th place Trophies or Medals for: winner and finalist Consolations: 8 game pro set NO playoff for the 3rd & 4th place Trophies or Medals for: winner and finalist
A HELPFUL HINT FOR THOSE IN THE FIRST ROUND OF CONSOLATIONS If you are in a first round of consolation draw and see a match time but not your opponent's name, it means that your opponent has not been determined yet. You should see a set of numbers where your opponent's name should be (example: "1-4", "5-8", and so on). Go to the main draw and follow the players from that line "1-4" (example). You should see a match not played yet (which will determine your opponent). Now, here is where some people make a mistake in reading the draw. Your opponent will be the player who LOSES that match AND that match must be his FIRST match. If it is his second match, then, you will not play him and you will get a "bye" to move on to the next round. Sometimes, the program (TDM) makes a mistake indicating a match that should not take place. USTA have yet to fix this "glitch/problem". That is why you should know how to read your draw. If you need help or clarification, please don't hesitate to ask. Email me at sylvanotennisacademy@yahoo.com.

Eligibility:
This tournament is open to all USTA junior members in good standing with the USTA and are eligible to play "yellow ball" level tournament. Pathway Requirements for Competing in Tournaments USTA NorCal established a pathway for players aged 12-and-under to enter into the competitive tournament structure. The purpose of the pathway is to ensure that juniors are playing at their appropriate age and skill level. The pathway is mandatory as of January 1, 2014.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CHANGE YOUR PLAYER LEVEL: 1. After you have logged into your child’s account (@ norcal usta website), you will be brought to their Junior Profile page. 2. On their profile, you should see an option to change their Junior Development Pathway. Please note: Since there are no minimum age requirements, players can stay in the Orange level until they turn 11 years old. Just because they have earned the 4 points required to move out of the Orange level, does not mean that they are required to move. If they are ready though, they can move up to Green! The only exception would be players that age out of Orange and Green. For example: If a player turns 11 years old, they will age up – having the option to choose Green ball or Yellow ball. Also, if a player turns 13 years old, they will age up and be placed into Yellow ball automatically. 3. Once you have selected to change their level, their Junior Profile should update. For questions or more information regarding the Junior Development Pathway or your Junior Profile, please contact Sofia Donlevy at donlevy@norcal.usta.com or 510-748-7327.
