Tournament Update 9AM
Courts are still wet. All MD semi-final matches will now begin at 12noon. All MD Final,3r & 4th, 5th & 6th Place matches will be held at 3pm. If you lost your QF match, you will play at 3pm. Finals for 5th & 6th place matches will be held on Monday.
Consolation matches will be held Monday, check website tonight for times.

All Consolation matches are canceled today. All continuation Main Draw matches will now begin at 10am.
All Main Draw matches (except continuation matches) will begin at the scheduled time. This includes those matches playing for 5th & 6th Place.
Consolation draws will be redrawn tonight, utilizing an abbreviated format.

As we wind down, things have been rapidly changing. Some mid-morning matches have been pushed back since they were posted last night at 9:30pm. Some B18 matches in the afternoon will be played at WGHS. Monday's matches will likely be reposted after today's play. Thank you.

2018 Willow Glen Jr. Excellence - Boys Singles Only
Thank you for your interest in the WG Jr. Excellence Tournment. Scheduled for Jan. 6-7 & Jan. 13-15 (if needed), all matches will be played at Willow Glen School in San Jose. See directions below.
Excellence tournaments offer advanced level competition in the 12, 14,16 & 18 age divisions and each is designated as a Level 4 National Ranking Tournament. All events will use a yellow Penn Championship ball on 78' courts and a player's raquet may not exceed 29" in length.
The singles draw size is limited to 32 players for each division. The singles only draw format will be a FIC through the R16 with a playoff for 3rd/4th place and 5th/6th place. All players are expected to play their consolation matches and Medical or injury withdraws are only accepted with a physician's note to the Referee.
USTA will confirm player selections by the end of the week. Player selection will be made on Friday (12/29) or Saturday (12/30). Draws will be posted by Wednesday (1/3/18). Any late entrant will be placed at the bottom of the alternate list.

Willow Glen High School ("WGHS" on draws) & Willow Glen Middle School ("MS" on draws)
WGHS Address: 2001 Cottle Ave, San Jose, CA 95125 From Cottle Ave, the courts are behind the front buildings, on your right. Plenty of free parking is available on school parking lots and a limited number of spots are available next to the courts.
WGMS Address: 2105 Cottle Ave, San Jose, CA 95125 From Cottle Ave, the courts are behind the front buildings, on
your left. Willow Glen HS and MS share the same campus, the MS courts
are within sight of the HS courts and each are within walking distance
from the other. Plenty of free parking is available on the school
parking lots.

Important Registration Information
When registering for the tournament, please make sure you provide your current
contact information.
Please check this website for any communications regarding the tournament. You will NOT receive a separate email informing you of your start time, you must check the Draws tab to get this info!

Concurrent Tournament Rule
When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more
sanctioned tournaments if any parts of the tournaments overlap, unless
each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs
in writing. If entries for the overlapping tournaments close on
different dates, approval must be received from all Tournament
Committees no later than the entry closing date that occurs last.
Players who enter a tournament and play it to completion, may then enter
another tournament with overlapping dates without permission. A player
who is on the alternate list in one tournament is not considered in
violation of the Concurrent Tournament Rule if they enter another
concurrent tournament. Players who violate the Concurrent Tournament Rule shall forfeit all ranking points earned at the concurrent tournaments

Check Your Draw Closely for your Site (for Each Match)
All draws are subject to change. Please recheck
draws for changes in time and or withdrawals up to the night before play. All changes made within 24
hrs of tournament start will be emailed or phoned to the affected parties, changes are noted after 10pm will be emailed. Make
sure to have all contact info with the USTA.

Contact BOTH the Tournament Director and the Referee: Registration Issues, Withdraws, etc.
1] Until the closing of the registrations, you can withdraw yourself online with your confirmation number. 2]
After closing of registration, and until the posting of the draws,
please submit any withdrawal in writing first by emailing BOTH the
Tournament Director (TD) and the Referee, and then also CALL the Referee (email addresses and phone numbers above) in a timely manner. [3] After the posting of the draws, email BOTH the Tournament Director and the Referee and wait for a confirmation from one of them, if you don't get a confirmation em or phone call, then PHONE the Referee.
Withdraws are sometimes necessary, and are only excused if they are for
illness, injury, or personal circumstance. Withdrawals made before entries close can
be handled by the player by the 'edit Registration' on the tournament web site and
withdrawing your entry. Your credit card will not be charged.
Withdrawals at least 7 days before play starts are eligible for a
refund. That refund will be processed about a week or two after play is complete. If
you must withdraw after entries close, immediately contact
the tournament referee by email; please note, per NorCal USTA Junior Tournament Rules, if a player withdraws from the tournament within 6 days of the start of the tournament, no refunds or credits are due. If it is the day before matches begin
(Friday) , or any of the tournament playing days, please see [3] above for instructions. For any withdrawal
after entries close, please include a reason so we may pass it on to the
USTA Section.

Tournament Desk - Check In
Please check in at the tournament desk at least
15 minutes prior to your scheduled match time. If you are late,
regardless if a court is available, you will be penalized and possibly, subject to the Junior Suspension Point System. Exceptions are at the discretion of the Referee.

Event & Draws Information and Match Formats
[1] All 12 singles events will be Best of 3 Tie-Break sets with a match Tie-Break (10 points), in lieu of a 3rdset utilizing regular scoring [2] All 14, 16, 18 Main draw singles Events will be Best of 3 Tie-Break sets utilizing regular scoring. [3] All consolation rounds will utilize Best of 3 Tie-Break sets with a match Tie-Break (10 points), in lieu of a 3rd set utilizing regular scoring [4]
Be on time for your matches: Check-i.n at the tournament desk (at your specific site) 15 minutes
BEFORE your scheduled match times and be ready to play. Penalties for
lateness will be enforced. [5] Courts will be open 45 minutes early for practice. [6] Appropriate tennis attire is expected. [7] Players/Spectators/Coaches are encouraged to exhibit good sportsmanship. Please not there is a 'No Tolerance' policy for sportsmanship issues, especially cell phone usage next to the courts! [8] There are bleachers at the HS for Courts 1 & 2. The MS and rest of the HS having viewing spots through the fence, we suggest bringing a lawn chair for viewing.
