Tournament to be played at Austin Tennis Center, 7800 Johnny
Morris Rd., Austin, 78724 (512) 928-8119; This tournament is by
invitation only. However, YOU MUST COMPLETE ON-LINE REGISTRATION
AND REGISTER IF YOU HOPE TO RECEIVE AN INVITATION TO PLAY THIS
TOURNAMENT. No entry fee will be charged unless your player is
selected to participate. For this reason,ALL PLAYERS, AND
ESPECIALLY THE TOP 12 in each age division should consider
registering for this event prior to the deadline. ONLY THOSE
PLAYERS THAT RECEIVE A WRITTEN OFFICIAL INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE
MAY PLAY.
Players will be divided into 2 draws of 4 players each. The winner
of each age division's round robin will be placed on the CATA Team.
This team will represent AUSTIN at the STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS AT NEWKS
Tennis Ranch. The Junior Masters tournament will serve as the BG10s
Orange Ball City Wide Championship with trophies awarded to 1st and
2nd place players in both Round Robins. Orange Ball players do not
advance to Newk's. For all other Masters events, you are competing
for advancement to the GRAN PRIX STATEWIDE CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT
NEWKS. There you will compete against other Gran Prix cities/teams
to earn the title STATE CHAMPIONS!
Finalists may serve as possible alternates for advancement to NEWKS
Statewide Championship Tournament.
Parents MUST come prepared to pay by CASH OR CHECK ONLY the $150
NEWKS entry fee on site at the Junior Masters. Payment made only by
CASH OR CHECK with CHECKS MADE PAYABLE TO CATA.
FORMAT FOR PLAY: 12S-18S - * 8 game pro-sets with a 12-point
tiebreak (first to seven by two) at 7 games all, no ad
scoring
FORMAT FOR PLAY: 10 & under GREEN - full court (78'), green dot
ball, any length racquet. Each match is two out of three short
sets, first to 4 games, no-ad scoring, sudden death game at 3-3.
3rd set is 12 pt tie-break; first to 7 by two.
FORMAT FOR PLAY: 10 & under ORANGE - 60 ft court, orange low
compression ball, 25" maximum racquet length. Each match is two out
of three short sets, first to 4 games, no-ad scoring, sudden death
game at 3-3. 3rd set is 12 pt tie-break; first to 7 by two.
