IMPORTANT - PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE TOURNAMENT LOCATION
This tournament has historically been held in Wilson NC but this year it is in Snow Hill NC. We have used Snow Hill in the past for a rain out site so some of you may remember playing there. Please make sure you are aware of this and take it into account when making your travel plans. I've had some emails referring to the tournament as the Wilson tournament and although Wilson is in the name I want to make it perfectly clear this tournament is not being held in Wilson.

Draws Posted - IMPORTANT - READ FULLY
The draws have been posted. As always match times are tentative and may change due to weather, withdrawals, defaults, administrative error, etc. You will not be contacted due to changes. You should review the draws often particularly before leaving for a match to be sure nothing has changed. This is a large event and it will be a long weekend of tennis. It is important that matches stay on schedule. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to your site and try to find your site in advance if at all possible. The tournament phone number is my mobile phone. I cannot accept calls during the tournament to provide directions etc. Other tournament related calls are acceptable. You may also use text or email. The site will be updated regularly throughout the event. If you have access to a mobile device you can use that to check draws and see results. All times have been posted. Any draw exceeding 8 participants will not complete the consolation which is why no times are posted for the consolation finals. This is a state rule set by NCTA. If you have questions please use email if possible.

First Match Check-in
The site is listed on the draws for all matches (GCHS - Greene Central High School, GRRC - Greene Ridge Racquet Club). Report directly to your site. All matches for each draw should remain at the same site for the entire tournament so there is no need to report to a different site. Each site will basically operate independently as if it were it's own tournament.

Selections Processed
The selections have been processed. This is based on the current standings list at the time of selections (10/15/2018). This is an NCTA rule.

General Information
This is a North Carolina Level 3 tournament and a Level 4 Southern tournament. This tournament may start as early as 8:00 AM on Saturday. We are expecting a large turnout so we can not accomodate any conflicts. All matches will play 2 out of 3 sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set (except 10's). The officials will be available to answer questions and settle disputes but they may not serve as line judges for individual courts. Please promote good sportsmanship. Further information will be provided as the deadline approaches. I encourage you to register early. If you have any questions feel free to email me at s.courtneyharrell@gmail.com
|
Withdrawals and Refunds
There are no refunds after the tournament deadline. Applicants who are not selected will not be charged.
|
Awards
Awards will be given to Champions, Finalists, and 3rd Place Winners. (Champions ONLY in round-robin events)
|
Changing Events (Must be completed before deadline)
I am not allowed to move a player for any reason. If you would like to move to a different event you will need to withdraw and then re-register for another event. This has to be done before the entry deadline. Whatever event the player is registered for when the deadline passes is the only event they can be considered for. Any event with 3 participants will be held. Any event with less than 3 participants will be cancelled.
|
Draws Limited to 16 - No Additional Draws
All draws are limited to 16 participants. Please take this into account when deciding what event to enter. The top 16 players will be chosen for each event so if you are playing in a higher age group for which you do not have ranking points you will not be chosen for that event if the entries exceed 16. This is a hard limit. No additional draws will be created for additional players.

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

3-Minute Rest Period
When a 3-minute rest period is taken in a match played with a Match Tie-Break in Lieu of the Third Set format, the following procedures should be followed: The 3-Minute Rest Period begins at the end of the second set and the official should start timing it. Players must remain on court or in an area adjacent to the court designated by an official. Coaching is permitted during the 3-Minute Rest Period and must take place on court or in an area adjacent to the court designated by an official. A toilet/change of attire break may be taken at the conclusion of the 3-Minute Rest Period. A player choosing to take a toilet/change of attire break during the 3-Minute Rest Period waives the right to further coaching. No coaching is permitted for a player who is taking a toilet/change of attire break. Following these procedures will preclude the necessity for any penalty for returning late after a 3-minute rest break.
