DOUBLES DRAWS TO USE ROBIN-ROUND DRAW METHOD
The doubles will use a Round-Robin draw format in divisions with 16 or fewer entries, except for the 55's. The 55's will use a round-robin if entries are 8 or less. As an example, a division with 16 teams will divide into 4 groups of 4 teams. Each team will play a two out of three set match with a 10-point match tie-break to decide the 3rd set.The team with the best record in each group will advance to a single elimination play-off. This method has been endorsed by the National Senior Men's Tennis Association for tournament play.

ALSS - Abbreviated Line Sweeping System to be utilized
ALSS - Abbreviated Line Sweeping SystemIn order to speed up turnover time of courts and improve line calling (leaves better mark), the tournament will use as in the past the ALSS. This is where only the service and baselines are cleaned leaving the sidelines uncleaned. The service & baselines are cleaned for depth perception but not needed on sidelines. In turn the ball makes a much clearer mark when line is unswept. This also saves valuable turnover time of courts when there is a full schedule of matches all day using 11 courts (saving approx. 3 minutes per court x 11 x 6 court turnovers = 198 minutes of line sweeping per day or 20+ hours for the week! Once you get used to it you'll wonder why we don't use it all the time (I know not as pretty). Play well & good luck - Larry Turville - Tournament Advisor
