What's a "Special Edition" Wilson Night?
What's a "Special Edition" Wilson Night? As you probably know, Wilson
Nights are usually held on Fridays. This Wilson Night will be on
Saturday--and we're going to start earlier than usual so everyone is
going to have lots of match play and tons of fun! 10's orange ball will
play from 5:30-8:30 PM. Green and yellow ball players will play from
5:30-10:15 PM. Since the event is going to be around dinner time,
families are invited to bring a picnic supper to enjoy during the
evening--outside food and drinks are allowed at Lakes Tennis Academy.
And that's why we are calling it a "Special Edition" Wilson Night!

What's Wilson Night?
Wilson Nights are fun, non-elimination Friday night match play events for orange, green, and yellow ball juniors. Many of the best junior players in the metroplex began their competitive career by falling in love with the sport while attending Wilson Night.
This is the last 2017 Wilson Night--but don't worry--we'll offer more in 2018. Dates will be announced in early 2018.
All competitors will play singles, doubles, enjoy all you can eat snacks, drinks, and sno cones, and there's always a big Grand Prize drawing to end the night at 10:!5 PM.
You'll want to get signed up ASAP as only the first 36 players will be accepted into the event. If you are 14 years or younger you are eligible to play--if you are 15 years old or older you are too old for Wilson Nights! (But you are invited to come and volunteer--your help is needed!)
Beginner through Challenger tournament players will love the non-elimination format--and we'll make sure you play other players at your level. Most kids play 3 sets of singles and 1 or 2 sets of doubles each Wilson Night...and we'll also make sure that everyone wins a couple and loses a couple of matches! Please note that no Champs or Super Champs are eligible to participate--although Champs and Supers are welcome to volunteer at Wilson Nights!
Since this event is not sanctioned by the USTA players can play their choice of ball color. For example, players 11 and older who would like to be placed in the green ball division should enter in the 12's and email sally10s@me.com requesting to be put in the green ball division--it's no problem. Likewise, 10's players who would like to play with yellow balls can register for 10's and then send an email to ask to be placed in 12's yellow ball.
Remember, the first 36 players for each event are "in" and we'll keep a waiting list for overflow players, so get signed up right away! You can register online at usta.com (a usta number or free usta account number is required for online registration) or you can register by emailing Sally Frame at sally10s@me.com and pay at check-in. If the event is cancelled due to bad weather no refunds will be issued.
All matches will be played at Lakes Tennis Academy, 4000 Legacy Drive, Frisco 75034 (972) 668-5253.
Don't worry about signing up with a doubles partner--most players will find a partner during the event and we'll help everyone else get paired up. The $35 entry fee includes everything--singles, doubles, balls, snacks, drinks, and sno cones.
PS--although everyone will sign up in an "event" like B12 singles, we are going to pair players up for matches based on their skill level. So--12's may play 14's, boys and girls may play each other, etc.
And--as mentioned above--you do not need to be a USTA member to play this event. If you don't have a USTA membership you can get a FREE USTA account and use that number to register online. To get a free account, go to usta.com and click on "tennislink" in the upper right hand corner. Scroll down to the middle of the page where you'll see a red banner that says "Don't Have a USTA account?. Click on this and then follow the instructions. It's not as complicated as it sounds!
