Please check your draw for an updated Sunday schedule.

Update Saturday 10:30 pm
Thank you for your patience on a wet and cold day
today. There are a handful of matches
that did not get played tonight due to the delays. Those matches will be scheduled for first
thing tomorrow morning (plan on 8:00am but check your draw later tonight or
first thing tomorrow morning). All
matches will be played at UTW tomorrow.
All players who have matches already scheduled for Sunday should also
check their draws later tonight because their matches will likely be pushed
back to accommodate the matches that were not completed today. Once we begin working on draws, they will
become unpublished. Once they are
completed, the draws will re-appear.
Please be patient tonight or plan on waking up first thing tomorrow
morning to check your draw and be prepared for an 8:00 am start if you are in
the 2nd round of consolation or main draw quarters.
All matches through the main and consolations quarter finals
will be playing short sets. Main Draw and Consolation Draws in the semi finals and
finals will play as originally planned, best of three tie break sets. Consolation will still play 10 point tie break in lieu of 3rd set and main draw will play full third if the weather cooperates tomorrow.

WITHDRAWAL, WALKOVER AND RETIREMENT PROCEDURE FOR CHAMPIONSHIP MAJOR ZONES
Over the last 12 months there has been a significant increase in withdrawals, walkovers, and retirements. Players registered for an event who withdraw from that event after Wednesday (three days prior to the start of the event) at 12:00 PM (noon), or who provide a walkover to their opponent, or who retire from a match, will be assessed two points in the suspension point system. If a player reaches 10 points within a 12-month period, the player will be eligible for suspension and will have the right to an appeal process. During this appeal process, which only happens if a player reaches 10 points, the player will be given the opportunity to explain and/or provide any additional information/evidence. No information/evidence will be considered or accepted prior to the player reaching 10 points. If what is provided is deemed to have merit and the withdrawal, walkover, or retirement is determined to be justified, the committee will immediately remove the points for that particular incident and the suspension will be nullified. Please know that the objective of this procedure is not to penalize players, but to track withdrawals, walkovers, and retirements. There is a maximum of two points that can be assessed to a player during a particular tournament, even in the case when the player retires from a match in progress, then awards a walkover to an opponent in the next match.

First-off Consolation – All Challengers and CMZs use the First Off Consolation Format. This format will show as Single Elimination on the tournament homepage, but all players are guaranteed two matches. This format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. How does it work? Players that lose in the main draw will be fed into the consolation draw in the order that they come off the court (i.e. the first player to come off the court will go on line one, the sixth player to come off the court will go on line six). This new format ensures more players playing on Saturday and an overall better tournament.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.
|
Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
