Inclement Weather
Monday 8:30 Courts have dried faster than expected. We will have officials here and be putting on matches when players are ready.
Monday 6:25
After consultation with our facilities manager, we decided to push back all starting matches by one hour. Boys singles and Girls doubles will get on 10 AM, followed by Girls singles
Monday 6:10 AM
Courts are a little wet with a lot of dry spots. We will try to get on at 9 as scheduled with possible minor delay.
Sunday 11:00 PM
Please check your draw for new match time. We hope for a 9am start so we can complete boys matches since in progress and girls doubles. Tomorrow the forecast is finally in our favor, thank you all for your patience today as we worked hard to get some of the matches completed.
Sunday 7:45 AM Please check your draw for your new match time. We will complete girls matches first since in progress. We hope to finish 2 rounds of singles and 2 rounds of doubles today if the weather cooperates.
Courts are relatively dry except for a light sheen of moisture. They are blown off and ready to go, and could get on early if we get any weather cooperation. We will put matches on early if players are here and courts are dry.
Sunday 7:00 AM Courts are wet from fog and humidity, not from rain. We do not have any puddles, and are blowing off courts now. We postponed until 11:00 because the temperature and the dew point are the same which creates a lot of humidity, and courts do not dry under these conditions. The temperature and dew begin to separate more each hour. We also have a nice breeze today. We are hopeful to have a window of time to play matches outside today if at all possible although there are a substantial chance of rain showers most of the day. .
If we get one round of singles and one round of doubles, we will only have two rounds of singles and 2 rounds of doubles tomorrow to complete our tournament. Monday's forecast is beautiful with 0% chance of rain and a high of 65 degrees. We are hopeful that we can complete the tournament tomorrow.
We need approximately 16 hours of court time for each draw to complete one round of singles and one round of doubles playing no add and tiebreaker for the third in Singles and Pro Sets for doubles. We would like to get this minimum completed today, but hope for more play if at all possible.
We have 2 indoor courts at Westheimer Indoor from 12:00 - 8:00. We need 16 more hours of court time to complete both Girls and Boys. If weather does not cooperate, we will need another indoor facility. The Kapasi family helped us secure Westheimer Indoor courts. If any parents have any in roads in helping us get other indoor courts, it would help us complete our event.
Yesterday, we checked the following: Downtown Athletic Club - They were slammed, and were not able to get us any courts. I will check back today to see if anything opens, but it is doubtful. Jewish Community Center - Rice used up their Indoor courts. They thought Rice would need them again today, but will check back with them. Chancellors - They did not have any courts yesterday, but were hopeful for today. They did not call back though. We will check back with them today. Lost Forest Tennis Club - They were booked, but will check back again today in case anything opens. Woodlands Country Club - They were booked. April Sound - Their covered courts were wet because of the humidity. We could have 3 today as the dew point and temperature separate.
We hope to play outdoors, but would like to have a back up option. We are willing to pay for another 16 hours of courts if needed. If any parents can help us, it will be much appreciated by all families. If you have any information or help, you can reach me on my cell at 832-724-8891.
The weather has made it difficult for all families, but especially for those travelling. We hoped to have this event completed by today and have all families on their way back home at a reasonable hour, but the weather has not helped us. Our event is a 3 day sanctioned event, and we now will have to use Monday to complete. Fortunately, Monday's weather is supposed to be nice.
Sunday 6:00 AM Courts are wet. We are postponing all matches until 11:00. We will update again by 8:00 AM.
2:25 We are moving Boys 14s to Westheimer Indoors. We have 2 courts from 4:00 - 8:00 and another court from 6:00 - 8:00. We are trying to finish one round of singles today.
We are keeping the Girls 14s Singles at Giammalva. All matches will keep their 4:00 starting time. Courts are close to dry but water keeps seeping up. Courts could be ready before 4:00, and we will put matches on before 4:00 if courts are dry and we have the players here.
All matches will play no add 2 out of 3 sets with a tiebreaker to decide the third set.
1:45 Courts are still damp. We just need some sunshine. Boys now at 2:30, Girls at 4:00.
1:15 pm Boys singles not before 2:00pm followed by girls singles not before 3:30pm
9:25 All singles matches are pushed back 1 1/2 hours. We will update the draws shortly. We will postpone all doubles tomorrow.
6:45 All courts are wet. We are postponing all doubles matches until after the singles. All singles match schedules are the same. We will update again in two hours.
We have a high chance for rain on Saturday and Sunday. We will make every attempt to play all matches Saturday and Sunday outdoors. If we are not able to play all matches outdoors on Saturday and Sunday, we will either extend our event to Monday or try to secure a possible indoor option.

BOYS 14 DRAW REMADE
We had to remake the Boy's 14 draw because the 2nd seed withdrew. Your playing time should not have changed, but you may play someone differently. Please make sure to recheck the draws.
