2017 SJA Tennis Classic

Thank you to everyone that played and volunteered to make the 2017 SJA Tennis Classic a huge success. We lucked out with the weather and hope to see y'all next year.

WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A RAIN DELAY. ALL COURTS ARE WET. WE ARE MOVING ALL MATCHES 2 HOURS FROM ORIGINAL SCHEDULE. SO 9:00AM MATCHES ARE NOW 11:00AM, 10:30AM IS NOW 12:30PM.

Some how we avoided the bad weather today and we got all the matches completed. Thanks everyone for your patience as we had many matches go to a 3rd set tiebreak. Tomorrow is finals day.

We made it through the first night with no rain! Hoping we get the same luck tomorrow. Times are up for Sunday. If we get any weather issues tomorrow those Sunday times may change so best bet is to double check your time Saturday evening and remember to move your clocks 1 hour forward Saturday night.

Just a quick reminder that I will update this page if we have any weather delays. Do not assume we are OFF or delayed. If it does rain the non tennis activities will go ahead as scheduled. In the event we get continuous delays we may change the scoring format to shorten match length.


Also remember to change your clocks Saturday night as we spring forward an hour for daylight savings!!

Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes before your match time so we can get matches on court on scheduled times. If we have open courts we love to get matches on early. Before each match check in at the tournament desk on the balcony, showing me you are ready to play. AFTER YOUR MATCH IS COMPLETED PLEASE BRING BALLS BACK TO REPORT THE SCORE AT THE TOURNAMENT DESK ASAP, so we can get the next match on court.

To give players as many matches as possible the Consolation draw is a modified feed-in consolation which means if you lose in the first or second round you will be placed into the consolation draw. If you are ever in doubt if you have another match check with John at the tournament desk.

Men's 4.0 and Open Mixed is a 4 team round robin (3 matches per team), Men's 3.0 is a 5 team round robin (4 matches per team)
All other events are regular draws with a modified feed-in consolation.

Welcome to the 2017 SJA Tennis Classic. This is a non-sanctioned tournament that is open to everyone. The tournament will benefit St. Joseph's Academy STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Curriculum. You are guaranteed at least 2 matches with all first and second round losers heading into the consolation draw.

Players may only enter ONE event!

When entering for a partner, the system will not allow you to request 2 shirt sizes. Please email johnsruk@bocagerc.org with shirt sizes if you are unable to enter online. Also email me if you were a graduate of SJA and the year you graduated as the committee is trying to collect this info.

Your entry fee includes Dinner Friday night with live music by Garrett Remson, Continental breakfast Saturday & Sunday, Lunch Saturday, Live music Saturday by Greg Talmage, Beer, PowerAde, water, tournament shirt, awards and door prizes.

All matches will be 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point match tiebreak played instead of a 3rd set. Matches or scoring may be shortened due to rain or weather issues. All main draw finals will play a full 3rd set, unless we have weather issues!!

THE BOCAGE TENNIS COMMITTEE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND ALL PLAYERS THAT ALL WHITE TENNIS ATTIRE MUST BE WORN AT ANY TIME ON THE COURTS. 10% COLOR TRIM IS PERMITTED. THIS APPLIES TO HATS, VISORS, WRISTBANDS ETC. SLEEVELESS SHIRTS FOR MEN ARE NOT PERMITTED. COLORED WARM-UPS ARE ALLOWED. SHOES MAY BE ANY COLOR!


FRIDAY EVENING PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED TO WEAR RED!!

Matches will commence Friday evening at 6:00pm, play will continue Saturday morning at 9:00am and tournament will conclude on Sunday. If we have rain or weather issues it is the players responsibility to check the tournament website for updates. If you have schedule conflicts we will try our best to accommodate.
