General Info
We are so very excited about Saturday's DPTA Future Stars tournament--it's going to be a fun event! Head's up that all matches will be played at Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Dallas. Warm-up courts will be available at 7:30 AM. Draws are posted--see the notes below about how to find your draw and match times. Please check in at the tournament desk ready to play 30 minutes before your first match and at least 15 minutes before all other matches. When you check-in please be 100% ready to play--with your racket (please note acceptable racket sizes in the notes below), water bottle, sunscreen, hat, snacks, and anything else you are going to need for the day. Balls will be provided. Do not check in and leave the tournament desk area--stay within earshot as we will not come and find you. And remember--this is a USTA sanctioned tournament so each child will recite the USTA "Player Oath" before starting play and penalties for lateness will apply. Parents--please take a moment to read the notes below about the USTA Spectator policy. We're also looking for parents and older siblings to be on court "monitors" to help the kids with scoring and the rules as needed--see the notes below for details on this very important part of the tournament...to summarize, your help is needed to make this a positive experience.

Draws are "UP"--How to Find Your Draw and Start Time
The draws are "UP"--this is where you'll find your match times and the name of your opponents. Please click on the "DRAWS" tab, look for your division of play, then look through each draw (as there are multiple draws for each age group and ball color) to find your name. This tournament is a round-robin, non-elimination tournament, so every player is scheduled for at least three matches--Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 for example. Also, please note that it's a good idea to check your first round match time on Friday evening before you go to bed and again Saturday morning before you leave your house--if your opponent is unable to play we'll update the draws online...so check and double check your match time.

Volunteers Needed--No Experience Required!
We're looking for volunteers--and no experience is required! Older juniors and adults interested in helping with this tournament are invited to email Tournament Director Sally Frame at sally10s@me.com. We need volunteers to help the orange ball players keep score and with simple rules, we need friendly folks at the tournament desk to hand out balls and direct people to the nearest Starbucks, etc. It's fun--and you'll be making the tournament a better experience for the players!

USTA Texas Spectator Policy
ATTENTION ALL SPECTATORS (INCLUDES PARENTS, COACHES, RELATIVES, FRIENDS, ETC.) In an effort to promote a more enjoyable and fair experience for all, the following policy is in immediate force and effect, and shall be diligently and stringently enforced. USTA Texas has implemented a “ZERO TOLERANCE” policy for improper behavior.
1. Any attempt by a spectator to speak to the official in an abusive or disrespectful manner regarding a line call or other ruling during match play shall be cause for immediate removal from the playing area and, if warranted, from the premises.
2. Any spectator behavior deemed unacceptable towards a player, other spectator or staff member shall be cause for immediate removal from the playing area or the entire premises. If said behavior is directed towards a player, either before, during or after a tournament, it shall result in an automatic and immediate suspension of that spectator’s right to attend USTA Texas tournaments, for a period of time to be determined by the USTA Texas Discipline and Grievance Committee.
3. Refusal to adhere to a removal request shall trigger immediate enforcement of the point penalty system against the player with whom the spectator is involved (per point penalty system regulations), including possible immediate default from the tournament.
4. The On-Site Official is the SOLE judge regarding unacceptable behavior.
Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

What's a Future Stars Tournament?
This is a tournament for beginning tennis players ages
7-14 yrs old who want to get tournament experience in a non-elimination fun format. The tournament
is played on one day, so all draws are completed on Saturday. There are red ball, orange ball, and green ball divisions. The
8U division will play with red low compression balls on a 36 ft. court. The
10U division will play with orange compression balls on a 60 ft court
unless qualified for Green Level. The 12U and 14U divisions
play with green compression balls on a 78 ft. court--a full court. This
tournament is part of a series of Future Stars Tournaments hosted by the USTA and the DPTA. Please note--12U and 14U players
who have ZAT points should NOT PLAY this tournament, since we do
not offer a yellow ball division.
