USTA Midwest Level 2 Open Championships

Match Schedule Info - Future Match Info

Currently all matches will be played outdoors at their scheduled time.

The Quarterfinal matches and Semi-final Matches in doubles will be played Monday, July 24, starting at 8 a.m. If it is determined that the FINAL can be played later on Monday, we will inform the finalists of that decision.

On Monday, July 24 there will be 12 outdoor courts available for warm-up at Schwartz Tennis Center until 8 a.m. 6 courts will be available outdoors until 9:45 a.m. There will be periodic availability the rest of the day. There are 6 additional practice courts at Purdue Co-Rec, 1275 3rd Street, West Lafayette IN 47906 (to the side of the fire station and directly behind the band practice area) .8 miles away. Also, there are 10 additional practice courts at Cumberland Elementary School, 600 Cumberland Ave. West Lafayette IN (4 miles). Warm-up courts at Schwartz Tennis Center will be shared by up to 4 players per court (depending on available courts) and alternative practice courts are on a first come/first serve basis. Indoor courts are available for $16 per court hour, but will not be available during inclement weather.

In case of ALL DAY rain, matches will be played indoors at Schwartz Tennis Center. We will post new match times online at FUTURE MATCH INFO after 8:30 a.m. All matches scheduled prior to 9:30 a.m. should report to the tennis center at your scheduled time. Please do not call Schwartz Tennis Center for your time.


In case intermittent rain or delays due to weather, please report to the tennis center at your scheduled time. We will do our best to post new or changed times on FUTURE MATCH INFO as needed.

We will begin play at 8:00 a.m. (EASTERN TIME) on Saturday, July 22. Please click on FUTURE MATCH INFO at the top of this page after 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, to see your specific start time and win/loss time. Everyone will play at least one singles match on Saturday, regardless of weather conditions (see RAIN POLICY below). Doubles entrants will play at least one round of doubles on Saturday evening, barring any inclement weather. Doubles entries will be taken until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, with draws and start times posted on Saturday after 10 a.m.. Please check with the tournament desk or on FUTURE MATCH INFO after 10 a.m. (EASTERN TIME) on Saturday for your specific doubles time.

Matches will begin as early as 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, July 22, 2017


Saturday, July 22: 2 rounds of Main Draw Singles, 1 round of Consolation Singles, 2 rounds of Doubles
Sunday, July 23: 2 rounds of Main Draw Singles, 3 rounds of Consolation Singles, 2 rounds of Doubles
Monday, July 24: 2 rounds of Main Draw Singles, 2-3 rounds of Consolation Singles, 2 rounds of Doubles
Tuesday, July 25: Main Draw Singles Final, Consolation Singles Quarter-Final, Doubles Final

The Singles Main Draw (128 Draw) will play best 3 tiebreak sets. The Singles Consolation Draw (64 FIC Draw) will play best of 3 tiebreak sets with a 10-point super tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Doubles Draw will play 8-game pro sets with a tiebreak at 8 all.

This tournament carries with it Level 2 USTA/Midwest points per round and Level 4 USTA National Singles points and Level 3 USTA National Doubles points per round. For more information on USTA/Midwest points per round, please visit the following link: more info

This tournament will use a combination of USTA/Midwest Points Per Round and Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for player selection and seeding. Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order:
1 - 88 Players based on the most recent USTA/Midwest Standings List in the age division of the tournament
2 - 40 Players based on UTR
Players will be seeded for the tournament in the following order:
1 - Top 16 seeds based on UTR
2- Seeds 17-32 based on USTA/Midwest Standings List
