After a final check of courts, weather conditions and forecast, we are cancelling the tournament for Sweetwater. We will process refund in accordance with USTA guidelines. Thanks to all the parents and kids that entered the tournament and hope to see you at a later one. Charlie 770-819-3221

Update at 11:15am
We are going to extend the rain delay to 4 hours. If you had a 9am match, it is now scheduled for 1pm. USTA rules prohibit the cancellation of a tournament until noon of the last day of the tournament which will be at 12 today. The tournament members will meet at 12 and make a decision on this tournament. We will post to website shortly after 12. Several parents checked the courts and are in agreement that they are not safe for match play. With humidity at 95%, there is nothing to dry them further. Charlie 770-819-3221

7:30am update
It is just getting light enough to see courts and they are wet. We will start sqeeging and I will update the status of any delay at 8. I will say that unless we get some help from mother nature we probably will have some sort of delay. Charlie

12:00 Saturday Jan 21
Due to the current and forecasted weather for today we are cancelling all matches on Saturday. Matches will be rescheduled for Sunday starting at 9AM. Please check the new draws after 2:00pm today for new times. We will use a short set, no ad, format in order to get in all rounds tomorrow. Thanks for being patient today. Hope weather is better tomorrow. Charlie 770-819-3221

10:45am Saturday
We have updated draws and reposted them. However, we are also looking at radar and it doesn't look promising. We will continue to monitor weather and make a decision at 12:00 on whether or not any matches can be played today. If it is still raining at that time we will reschedule all matches for Sunday and repost the draws. Keep in mind that even if it does stop raining, we will need a significant time to clean the courts to make them safe for play. Thanks for your understanding. Charlie 770-819-3221

8:15am Sat Jan 21
We also are going to use short set scoring so all matches will be rescheduled. Check draws after 11am for your new match times. We hope to start first matches at 2PM. We will update weather conditions at 12. Thanks for your cooperation. Charlie 770-819-3221

7:15AM
The courts are damp so there will be a 1 hour delay in start times. That is if you have an 8:30 match it is now 9:30 and so on to the other match times. When the staff gets here, we will discuss our alternatives including a reschedule of all matches to accommodate a modified scoring format. Next update will be at 8:15am. Charlie 770-819-3221

6AM SATURDAY JAN 21
I am at the tennis center and so far things are OK. It is still dark and I won't have a chance to inspect the courts til a little later. I will update the situation about rain at 7:15 this morning. Please check your draw. We have had a couple of withdrawals due to injuries and they are posted to the draw. We will try to contact you, but I don't want to call too early in the morning so it is best to check draw to be sure. Charlie McCoy 770-819-3221

Update Jan 18, 2017
Welcome to the Sweetwater "Frostbite" tournament. The draws have been posted. I'm sure you have been looking at the potential weather for this weekend. We will begin posting weather updates by 7AM on Saturday morning if needed. Matches have been scheduled early- start of first ones is 8:30am so we can get in play before rain later in the day. Feel free to contact the tournament desk at 770-819-3221 if you have any questions. We look forward to hosting this event this weekend and want to make it a great experience for all our players. 10am Update
We are now on a 3 hour rain delay. The muggy, humid conditions are not allowing the courts to dry. For example, if you were scheduled for 9am, your match is now scheduled for 12. Add 3 hours to your scheduled time. Based on the weather radar, if we have another delay, we will just call the tournament. Check the refund policy for tournaments rained out. I am sorry, but I just can't control what mother nature does and I don't want to put the kids on unsafe courts. AGAIN, thanks for your understanding. Charlie 770-819-3221

Counting Points Up effective Jan. 1, 2017 To align with USTA National and Southern, USTA Georgia Junior Competition Committee has approved an amendment that will affect how Georgia standings will be calculated. Beginning January 1, 2017, the singles and doubles results for each player earned in a division for the previous 12-month period shall be counted as results in the next-older division at 20%. As such, players will no longer be considered for selection based on their lower age division standings. A description of this new amendment may be found on the USTA Southern website at: http://www.southern.usta.com/Juniors/tournaments_rankings/2017_important_junior_updates/?intloc=headernavsub2
