6pm Update: Main draw matches at JDS, TAT and MER and STRAT are postponed until Tuesday morning. New match time posted by midnight.


1:45 update summary. No changes but here are the delays in effect at this time:
JDS: All 11am and later are delayed 2.5 hours.
BG14 Main Draw at TAT and MER: changing sites at these times: B14 main at MER report to JDS at 4pm; G14 Mains report to STRAT at these times: 12:00 report at 3, 12:30 at 3:30, 1:00 at 4.
MER and TAT: All matches after 10 am are delayed 4.5 hours.
Consolation 3Q Round and Doubles has been postponed until Tuesday. New match times and locations for Tuesday will be posted by midnight Monday.

12:30pm update for MER and TAT: 8, 9, 9:30 and 10am matches report at 1 pm (original match times) All other match times are delayed 4.5 hours
BG Main Draw matches at TAT and MER are being moved.
G14 Main report to STRAT: 12pm at 3, 12:30 at 3:30, 1:00 at 4 pm

Mon 11:30 update: Doubles and 3Q round of Consolation Monday afternoon has been postponed until Tuesday.
MER and TAT: 8, 9, 9:30 and 10am matches report at 1 pm (original match times) All other match times are delayed 4 hours
JDS: 9, 9:30, 10, 10:30 matches report at 1 pm (original match times) All other match times are delayed 2.5 hours
STRAT - NO DELAY

Mon10:30 update: TAT and MER 2 hour delay. JDS 1 hour delay. No Delay at STRAT

Mon 9:45am: No delay at STRAT. JDS now 30 minute delay: MER and TAT 1.5 hr delay. Oncourt or checked in: do not leave the site.

Monday 8 am: No Delays at JDS and STRAT; MER and TAT are delayed 1 hour from original match time.

* Turn right on Northside Dr. * Turn right on Riverside Dr., travel 4 1/2 miles (seven red lights). * Turn right on College St., travel 1 1/10 miles (five red lights). * Turn right on Oglethorpe St., travel 1/10 mile. * Take first left into parking lot.

Stratford Academy (STRAT) 6010 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31220
* Turn right on Northside Dr. * Turn right on Riverside Dr., travel to first red light. * Turn right on Wimbish Rd. * At light, turn left on Forest Hill Rd. * In 6/10 mile, turn right on Vineville Ave. * In 1.5 miles, turn left on Tucker Rd. * In 2.6 miles, turn right onto Peake Rd. * In 4/10 mile, turn left into Stratford Academy * Travel all the way around the school to reach the tennis court parking.

Monday, June 5th - 3:00pm:: State Endorsement List,
Monday, June 5th - 5:00pm: Deadline for Player Wildcard Submissions.
Tuesday, June 6th - Wildcard committee will review all requests for that event and decide on WC's and players will be individually notified.
Tuesday, June 6th - 10:00pm: Player selection to be completed & published to webpage.
Wednesday, June 7th - 12:00pm: Use State alternate list to replace players.

Thursday, June 8th - 12:00pm: All draws, seeds and match times will be posted . Time will be delayed until 3 pm.
Saturday, June 10 - Singles matches will begin starting at 8:00am

Friday June 9, Check in at John Drew Smith Tennis Center (JDS) 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Saturday and Sunday check in begins at 7:00am until 5:00pm at JDS

Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website under "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen click "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is maconten@bellsouth.net. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No refunds for withdrawals after Sunday, June 4 at 11:59pm.
Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE!

REFUNDS AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES
If you withdraw before registration closes, your credit card will not be charged.

If you withdraw after registration closes, there is no refund. A player shall not withdraw from a tournament after entries close except for illness, injury, or personal circumstance. A withdrawing player shall immediately notify the Tournament by email of the withdrawal.

If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament.
If the player is not playing because of a personal circumstance, the player shall provide a written explanation of the situation to the Referee no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. The Referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal emergency. FYI - a personal emergency does not include "my parents can't get off work" or "I have a vacation planned."

You will receive suspension points if you do not have a documented medical excuse or a written explanation of a personal emergency.
Our best advice to you, is make sure you assess your means of travel and schedules before registration closes. Thank you for your cooperation

The non-seeded players will start singles Saturday morning, June 10th.
The seeded players will begin play Sunday June 11th.
Doubles play will begin Sunday June 11th.

Tentative Daily Schedule
Saturday :Main draw - 1 round
Sunday: Main draw - 1 round , Doubles 2 rounds (no consolation)
Monday : Main draw - 1 round; FIC 2 rounds; Doubles - 1 round (after singles)
Tuesday - Saturday: Main draw - 1 round; FIC 2 rounds; Doubles - 1 round (before singles)
Finals and 3/4 playoff for doubles are scheduled for Friday.
Finals and 3/4 playoff for main draw and consolation final are scheduled for Saturday.

As always, weather issues can necessitate a change in the above tentative schedule.

Main Draw - best of 3 tiebreak sets
Consolation - best of 2 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set
Doubles: 8 game pro set with 7 point tiebreak at 8 all. Format for Finals AND 3/4 PLAYOFF will be best of 2 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set.
There will be 3/4 playoff for singles and doubles.

There will be 2 warm up sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings at JDS (7am and 8am). If you are interested call GREG at 203-360-6524.
The tournament will not have any info about this, so please call GREG.

The main site has 22 courts that is on a first come first serve bases. All sites open on Friday and early morning each day. Main site (JDS) open at 6:30am each day until 7:45am.

USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of the tournament registration. Players are not allowed on the court without this release more info

Any players who register late for the Southern Closed event will be charged a late entry fee of $25.
