MATCH FORMAT, TEE SHIRTS AND TROPHIES
We will play best of three sets, with advantage (regular) scoring. We will use the match tie break in place of a full third set, if players split the first 2 sets. Match tie break uses the same rules as a set tie break - except the winner is the first player to 10 points, by a 2 point margin. Every registered player will receive one tee shirt for participating in the tourny. Trophies will be awarded to first second and third places if there are at least 6 entries in the division. There will be a third place play off match for added USTA points. Back draw champions will also receive trophies if there are 8 or more entries in a given division.

TEE SHIRTS & TROPHIES
Every registered player will receive a tee shirt for participating in the tourny. Trophies will be awarded to first, second and third places. Per USTA Midwest guidelines, there will be a play off match of the semifinal losers for third place, with higher MW points. Back draw champion will also receive a trophy if there are at least 8 entries in a division..

GENERAL DAILY SCHEDULE
We will begin play each day at 9 AM and hope to be finished daily by 5 to 6 PM. We will begin the tournament on Monday morning and attempt to finish the tournament in four days, five at the most. We hope to be done by Thursday, but definitely will be completed by early afternoon on Friday. Many of our players need to leave and get on the road for the MIDWEST CLOSED tournaments in Indy and Michigan. Weather is the most difficult factor to predict and overcome, so we allow lots of leeway in order to get all the matches completed.
|
PLAYER EQUIPMENT AND GEAR
Each player is responsible for their own equipment and gear. You should have a minimum of 2 rackets, with at least one strung racket as a back up. If a string breaks, you are responsible for having a second racket to continue play. The tournament has no extra rackets to lend you. You are responsible for your own gear: wraps, grips, string, first aid kits, Band Aids, extra tee shirts, blister pads, etc. The tournament has none to provide to you.

*** FACILITIES NEAR OLENTANGY ****
The Olentangy HS Tennis Courts are located immediately behind an OSU Med Health / Kroger Super Center on S.R 23 and Lewis Center Road. At Kroger many items can be obtained that may have been forgotten, plus having a restaurant and bathrooms. There is a Subway, Jets Pizza, Kung Fu Chinese and Joe's American Grill located in the center also. Everything is within 200 yards, easy walk or drive. The high school may not be open, so the bathrooms at the OSU Med Center, Kroger and the restaurants are greatly appreciated.

*** HEAT *** HEAT *** *** FLUIDS *** TOWELS *** FLUIDS *** TOWELS ***
HEAT - PLEASE BE PREPARED.....This is a summer tournament, so bring lots of water or sports drink and towels with you. We believe the rule of action is to have a gallon of fluids with you on court per match. Parents - that is A GALLON PER MATCH !!! We suggest you buy a gallon jug, or 2, with one for back up, and keep them full of ice and ready to hand to your players during changeovers, at a moments notice. Bring your own towels with you, 2 to 4 or more, when it is hot players can sweat profusely. The tournament does not supply towels, you are responsible.
