Calling all tennis players! Mark your calendars now for the 14th
Annual TowneBank /Southern Insurance Agency Charity Classic Tennis
Tournament to be held Sept 15-18, 2016
The purpose of this tournament "to promote tennis in northeast
North Carolina through the Outer Banks Tennis Association and to
raise money for local hospice care."
Co-hosted by Duck Woods Country Club, the Westside Athletic Club,
the Pine Island Racquet & Fitness Club and the Corolla Light
Resort, the four-day event will be held at the Duck Woods and
Westside courts.
The TowneBank/Southern Insurance Agency Charity Classic Tournament
is the signature fundraiser for Dare Hospice, a unit of the Dare
County Department of Health and Human Services serving those in the
community facing end of life illnesses.
The Outer Banks Tennis Association is a non-profit Corporation
developed to promote the sport of tennis on the Outer Banks for
physical and educational purposes.
The tournament will consist of 16 draw, men's and women's doubles,
2.5,3.0,3.5 & 4.0 ,4.5 with a compass draw. The
TowneBank/Southern Insurance Agency Charity Classic Tennis
Tournament is open to all players 16yrs of age and up.
Funds raised from the Classic are designated by Dare Hospice to
provide medication and necessary equipment for un- and underinsured
patients' safety and comfort, as well as to fund volunteer
services.
The OBTA will use funds raised for the development of tennis
programs for both junior and adult tennis by working with local
recreation departments, schools and clubs, Tournaments, clinics and
summer camps.
