The Draws are "UP"
The draws are "up" and we hope that you are getting excited about the Tournament this Sunday! Please read all the info on this website--(scroll DOWN for the site locations, maps and site addresses) and keep checking for updates and any changes in your draw. In particular, we'd advise you to check your draw again Saturday night and then again on Sunday morning as last minute player withdrawals are common. If you have any questions about the DPTA August 1-Day Challenger please email Tournament Director Walter Williams at williamswalt@ymail.com. Good Luck and we'll look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

RHS- RICHARDSON HIGH SCHOOL
Richardson High School, 1250 W Beltline Rd, Richardson TX 75080, Richardson High School has 9 courts. Please bring ice and water for your match. The courts are located across the road from the High School on the south side of Beltline--2 blocks east of Coit on Beltline. Again, please note that the tennis courts are on the SOUTH side of the street! Fast food restaurants are located at the intersection of Coit and Beltline. Practice courts are available one block away in Cottonwood Park--on Beltline just west of the High School courts.

HTC- HUFFHINES TENNIS CENTER
Huffhines Tennis Center is located at 1601 Syracuse Drive, Richardson, TX 75081. The tennis shop phone number is (972) 744-7870. We will be using 10 courts total on Sunday at Huffhines. A pro shop and vending machines are onsite. Ice and water is available,but to be on the safe side please fill water jugs before you come, the water and ice machine is slow making ice and won't make enough for everyone. There will also be water available on the courts.

USTA Junior Player Oath - Please Read before playing your first match
I recognize that tennis is a sport that places responsibility for fair play on me. I promise to abide by the rules of the game, which require me to give the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. At all times I shall strive to compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship, recognizing that my behavior on the court is a direct reflection of my character. Whether my matches end with my victory or defeat, I promise to conduct myself in a way that honors my opponents, those who support me, and the game of tennis.
(By USTA policy, each player must acknowledge and read the oath when signing in at the tournament desk at the start of the tournament)

John Newcombe Tennis Ranch Sportsmanship Award
One lucky Challenger player will be selected on as the "John Newcombe Tennis Ranch Sportsmanship Award" winner this Sunday--and will receive a FREE week in 2017 at Newk's Ranch in New Braunfels. If you'd like to nominate a candidate for this award, give your suggestion to any site director. We'll be announcing the winner Monday August 15th on this website.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, August 3, 2016 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
