The U.A. Spring Open will be held on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24 at Upper Arlington High School, address listed above, with map. REPORT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR MATCH AND COURT ASSIGNMENTS !! Jones Middle School and Hastings Middle School may be also used for some matches, depending on the number of matches.

TOURNAMENT SANCTION
The UA Spring Open is a USTA sanctioned tournament for juniors, and all participants must be current, valid USTA members. The adult divisions and all doubles events are non sanctioned, and the results will NOT be included in your USTA rankings. Adults do not need to be USTA members, and their results will NOT be included in their USTA rankings.

PLAYER WITHDRAWAL
To withdraw from the tournament, go to the center of this home page for the tournament. This is the same web page upon which the player registered for the tournament. In the middle of the page there is a section called "Edit Registration". The third line down is labeled "Withdraw". The fourth line down is labeled "Find Confirmation Number", if you cannot find that number for withdrawal.
If the confirmation number the player received upon initial registration was lost or cannot be found, click on "Find confirmation number". Enter the players USTA number, and zip code of the players residence. A list of all the tournaments the player has ever registered for will appear. Write down the confirmation number of the tournament from which the player is withdrawing.
Go back to "Withdraw", and enter the players USTA number and confirmation number for the event in that tournament that you want to drop. Click to confirm the player is withdrawing form the tournament. Withdrawal will be done immediately, and the player is out of the tournament.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The junior singles divisions will be FMLC (first match losers consolation), with each junior singles participant guaranteed at least two matches. Adult matches and doubles matches are single elimination, when you lose - you are out. All front draw matches are the best of three tiebreak sets, while backdraw matches will used the THIRD SET MATCH TIE BREAK in place of a full third set. A MATCH TIE BREAK IS THE SAME AS A SET TIE BREAK, EXCEPT THE WINNER IS THE FIRST PERSON TO 10 POINTS, INSTEAD OF 7.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE - NO REQUESTS
This is only a 2 day tournament, with many participants, so there will be no scheduling requests honored, it is just not possible. All players should be prepared to play up to 2 singles matches and up to 2 doubles matches per day. All players must be able to participate from 9 AM to dark so we can finish all matches.

ADULT PARTICIPANTS
Adult singles entrants and all doubles participants register for play per instructionson the COGP web site, with payment made at your first tournament match, or through arrangements made with Walt Thieman.
