Hi--we are very excited to host the 2016 USTA Super Championship Level 4 Major 4 Tournament at Canyon Creek Country Club! Please keep checking this website for updates--as you can imagine, there will be plenty between now and the end of the tournament! Just so you understand the set-up of the website and how to navigate it, announcements from the USTA Texas Section will be kept on the very bottom of this website headlined in black, site information and directions will be listed second from the bottom headlined in red, and all the other info will be on the very top. IMPT: New Withdrawal Rule - Please Read
In 2016, there is a new regulation for Super Champ Designated Tournaments which end on a Monday or Tuesday. Players are required to inform the tournament desk or tournament director the day before of their intent not to complete their matches on the last day of the tournament. This must occur no later than 6pm Sunday for singles draws that end on Monday or 6pm Monday for singles draws that end on Tuesday. It also can be done within 15 minutes of completing their final match of the day (whichever is later). For this tournament, all B draw singles players must inform the site or tournament director by Sunday at 6pm for Monday (9/5) matches. All A draw singles players must inform the site or tournament director by Monday at 6pm for Tuesday (9/6) matches. The director will inform the opponent immediately of any withdrawals. Players who pull out after Sunday or Monday at 6pm will have their match coded as a withdrawal and will receive no points for their wins in that tournament. If a player gets injured or ill after that 6pm deadline and they think it's important to "keep their points" they (the player) will need to physically show up on Monday or Tuesday morning and pull out in person in order to have that match coded a walkover and retain their points.

Draw Posting
Only first match times and site locations will be posted on the Tuesday prior to the start of the tournament. Draws will be posted on the Thursday prior to the start of the tournament at 6pm. Due to A draw players receiving higher sectional and /or national points for these tournaments, players will be moved from the B draw to the A draw to replace A draw withdrawals based on "Friend at Court" regulations. Tournament Directors will make draw changes due to withdrawals until the prior Thursday at noon. Final draws will be published on the prior Thursday at 6:00pm. All players are responsible for re-checking their draw after Thursday at 6:00pm to make sure their time and location have not changed.
|
Doubles Registration
A very important change to note is the correct way to register for doubles online, which will be strictly enforced in 2016 for Super Champ Designated Tournaments. Players may register with or without a partner. Those who register with a partner must indicate their partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after registering, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also registered with them). If both players do not register with each other online, then they will become an individually registered doubles player and be paired with another individually registered doubles player based on the order of the current Standings list. Tournament Directors will not accept any request for changes in doubles partners at any time.
|
Awards
First, Second and Third Place medals will be awarded. Consolation winners no longer receive medals. A sportsmanship award is given to the outstanding boy and girl in each designated tournament.
|
Out of section players are not eligible for this tournament.
|
Upcoming ITF Tournaments
The Texas ITF Tournaments are approaching quickly. If you are interested in competing in the ITFs, you will need to apply for an iPIN several days prior to the entry deadline. For more information on the Texas ITF circuit, click “See More.”

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.
