Congratulations to Abigail Markel and Will Hart on being chosen by the Tournament Committee and Tournament Officials as the Chiity Sportsmanship Award Winners for the 2016 NC Junior Summer State Closed.

Please make sure to double check your time and location.

For significant portions of time during the tournament, Louis Stephens Dr right in front of CTP will be reduced to one lane. Please keep this in mind when considering travel times and arriving for matches. Lateness due to traffic is not an accepted excuse.

We will have a pizza party starting at 5:30 at CTP on Thursday, August 4th.


Tie-dye will be available at CTP 12:30-5:30 Thursday and Friday of the event.

The Tennis Park is about to undergo a $5.2 million covered court expansion project. Construction on the seven covered courts is set to begin the week of June 6, 2016, and is expected to take eleven months to complete. There will be some disruptions during construction (noise, dust, etc.) however, tournaments, events and league play will all continue as scheduled.

In order to truly enjoy the sport of tennis, it is essential to display good sportsmanship which includes abiding by the rules, playing fair, and showing respect for your opponent. We will have a sportsmanship award that will be given out to one boy and one girl in this tournament who demonstrates these qualities. However, we expect that ALL players who compete this week in the NC State Closed to abide by guidelines set forth by "the code". Singles draws will be limited to 64 participants and Doubles draws will be limited to 32 teams (64 participants). The top 64 players for each age group will be selected based on the most current NC Standings.

Medical Waivers will be turned in at the first match of the tournament, at whatever site you play. You do not need to bring the waivers to the main site if you play your first match at an alternate site! more info

Reminder, it is not allowed for a player to enter two events with dates that overlap. Players who plan to play in the USTA National Championship will not be allowed to play the NC Summer Closed due to the overlap in scheduling. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you wish to withdraw or change doubles partners before the tournament deadline, you will need to do so using the "Edit Registration" link on this webpage. The Tournament Director does not have the power to make these changes before the deadline.

No refunds for withdraws after the online entry deadline.

We will accept doubles late entries through noon, Friday, July 29th. There are absolutely no late entries for singles for any reason.

The current plan is for play to start daily at 8:30am. Wednesday should be doubles only for 12s-18s with singles play for those divisions starting Thursday. 10s doubles should start Thursday afternoon with 10s singles likely starting Friday morning.
