National Showcase Series. Tournaments in the National Showcase Series
are USTA sanctioned junior tournaments open to players from all
sections. These tournaments are designed to give a broad range of
players the chance to compete outside their districts and sections - and
these tournaments will count towards Tennis Recruiting rankings !!
Players who compete in these tournaments and win at least one match will
become NATIONAL PLAYERS for their Tennis Recruiting rankings. Click the

FORMAT, SCORING, BALLS
Match Formats - 10s Divisions The 10-and-under divisions in this tournament will play matches using the ORANGE compression ball. These divisions will play 2-out-of-3 sets. Each set play AD SCORING and go to 4 games with a 7-point tiebreaker played at 4-all. 10s matches will also play a 7-point tiebreaker instead of a 3rd set. Players in the 10s must use racquets no longer than 25-inches.
Match Formats - 12s Divisions Will use Green Dot balls
Match Formats - 14s, 16s, 18s Will use regular-duty yellow Penn balls
All draws play off for 3rd/4th place.

PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY
It is the PLAYER'S responsibility to know their next match time and show up in a timely manner. Check the website often for updated match times. PLAYERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH AT LEAST 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO ITS SCHEDULED START TIME. ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR LATENESS.

PARENT AND MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS
The Parent and Medical Release is required by USTA/NC prior to playing matches. Parent/Guardian must sign. Bring your signed form with you to registration. This form must be filled out for each player for every tournament. A link to the form can be found by clicking "more info" below.

SEEDING
From USTA/North Carolina Seeding Criteria: "Seeding shall be done using only the results from the most recently published USTA/North Carolina Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list." WITHDRAWALS
Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline - Go to the Tournament Website and click "Edit Registration" on the right side of your screen, then "Withdraw." From there, you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation Number, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you; you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.
Withdrawal After the Entry Deadline - Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. All withdrawals after "Entries Close" must be sent BOTH in writing via email (to the Tournament Director's address above) AND by phone to the tournament site.
Withdrawing During the Tournament - You must get approval from the Head Referee at the
Simkins Indoor Tennis Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have
properly withdrawn. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it
will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE
PHONE!
Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

IMPORTANT JUNIOR SUSPENSION NOTES
Please note the rules below pertain to ALL sanctioned North Carolina and Southern tournaments: 11. "A player shall not enter two tournaments at the same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournament is scheduled to overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing." 12. "Player shall not enter a tournament intending to withdraw if the player's entry is accepted in another tournament."
What if played on an Alternate List? There are two options: 1.) Stay on the Alternate Lists in hope of getting into the tournament. 2.) Withdraw from the Alternate Lists so you can legally enter another tournament.

DRAW LIMITS
Singles draws are limited to 32 players per division. Doubles draws are limited to 8 teams per division.

FREE ENTRY FEE VOUCHERS FOR FIRST-TIME PLAYERS
The North Carolina Tennis Association is again providing tournament vouchers for current High School and Jr. Team Tennis players in North Carolina. The NCTA Junior Competition Committee and Board of Directors want to provide an incentive for those players in North Carolina to get involved in USTA tournament competition. RAIN POLICY
Indoor tennis courts are available for inclement weather. Please note: we DO NOT automatically go indoors at the first sign of rain. Depending on the size of the tournament, the weather forecast and other factors, an outdoor RAIN DELAY may be best for the tournament. Always make sure you have confirmation from the TD or online draw BEFORE going indoors!

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, October 9, 2016 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
