B&G 11 & Under Green Dot Update
11 & Under Green
Update
As you are well aware, there has been an 11 & Under
pilot ongoing to help with the development of our players, by initiating a 11
& under Green division. A benchmark
was added to slow down the race to 12 & Under yellow, again, for
developmental purposes for the player.
As of March 1, 2016, the USTA Southern Junior Competition Committee is
taking the next step. The “benchmark”
will be eliminated. Therefore, the
following will take place:
-
For events with deadlines past March 1, you will
be able to enter 10 & Under Orange, 11 & Under Green, or 12 & Under
Yellow as long as player is age eligible.
-
Player will be able to enter two divisions ( 11
& Under as well as 10 & Under, 12 & under as well as 11 & Under
etc)
-
Selection will be done as all selections for 12
thru 18’s. Please see process listed on the home page below
-
Bottom line, if you enter two divisions, you
will be considered for the upper division first and if not selected, then the
lower division. You must play where selected.
-
Selections will be based on the player’s
standing.
-
For those entering 11 & Under Green, the 12
& Under standing will be used for selection until April 1st. At
that time an 11 & Under standing/ranking will be used.
-
Draw size will be 16
-
Now the choice will be left up to the
coach/parent/player on what division to enter. Please remember though,
selection will be based on standings.

IMPORTANT JUNIOR SUSPENSION NOTES
Please note the rules below pertain to ALL sanctioned North Carolina and Southern tournaments: 11.
"A player shall not enter two tournaments at the same time. When
entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned
tournaments, if any part of the tournament is scheduled to overlap
unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and
concurs in writing." 12. "Player shall not enter a tournament intending to withdraw if the player's entry is accepted in another tournament."
What if played on an Alternate List? There are two options: 1.) Stay on the Alternate Lists in hope of getting into the tournament. 2.) Withdraw from the Alternate Lists so you can legally enter another tournament.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING STA LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENTS
Limited Draws - All divisions are limited to 32 players each.
Selection Process - Because this is a Southern Level 3 event, the following Selection Processes are being used: - Boys and Girls 10s divisions: Top 32 players applying from the USTA Southern Standings list - Boys and Girls 12s-18s divisions: 28 players from age group and up to 4 players from the next younger age group who have a standing in the top 40 of the younger age group and are not in the selected 28 - The names of the player who have been selected will appear as "Competitors." Alternates are listed in the Report section.
Waterfall System for Splitting Competitors - The players will be ordered using the most up to date Southern standings with players from the younger age group that met the seeding requirements included in the player list.
The 32 players will be split as follows:
RED DRAW: 1,4,5,8,9,12,13,16,17,20,21,24,25,28,29,32
BLUE DRAW: 2,3,6,7,10,11,14,15,18,19,22,23,26,27,30,31
Seeding will be made after the players have been split.
Independent Draws - There will be an Independent Consolation Draw for players who lose in
the First Round of the Consolation, and they will play one more round
unless there is a bye.
Guidelines For Entry - Players are allowed to enter two age divisions in Southern L3 tournaments, within these guidelines:
1.) Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will
automatically be selected in the older age division. They will be
removed from the other age division.
2.) Players not selected to either division will remain on the
alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the
division they first get in from the alternates list. They will be
removed from the alternates list in the other division.
3.) Players selected to one age division will be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected.
4.) Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.
- Players from the lower age group that were selected and meet the
seeding criteria will be seeded according to the STA directions.
Alternates - The Alternates by Event report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately if you realize that you cannot participate.
It
is the Alternate's responsibility to check the website to see if your
alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to
contact you if your status does change providing the correct information
is on your membership profile. Once an Alternate is selected for play,
payment is due immediately.
