**** Amended criteria for 11 & Under Green Ball play for Level 3 tournaments****
Starting March 1, 2016, the “benchmark” in the 11 & Under division has been eliminated. Now, as long as age eligible, a player may play 10 & under orange ball, 11 & under green ball, or 12 & under yellow ball. Beginning in early April, standings for the 11U division were posted in TennisLink, and minor changes have been made to the 10U standings as well. The 11U standings include all age-eligible 11U players, regardless of whether or not they have played in an 11U tournament, and these standings are being used for selection and seeding for the STA L3 tournaments. Moving forward, results from 11u STA L3 tournaments are only being counted in the 11U and 10U standings for Southern, and they have been awarded full credit for points earned in both of these divisions. The lower division standing will be considered for selections. For 12U events, the lower division is considered to be 11U Green. 1/8 of the draw is taken from the younger age players in the top 40 who are still eligible in the younger age group. For the 11U division, 1 player is taken from the 10U division in the top 20 who are still eligible in the younger age group.
