I would like to thank all you for signing up for this
weekend’s VTA Virginia Beach Fall Championships L5. If you’ve seen the forecast
for our area, you know that Saturday does not look promising. As a result of
this forecast, I have scheduled matches on Friday to lessen the impact that
inclement weather could have on the schedule. Those playing on Friday were
contacted and it has been limited to nearby players.
We do have some indoor backup, so if the weather does affect
the tournament my goal is to have everything played up to the semi-finals on
Saturday. This would just leave the semis and finals to be played on Sunday.
Two things I am hoping to avoid are playing more than two
matches in a day (even though Friend At Court does allow up to 3) and having
players/parents wait around during a lengthy rain delay. I would like to thank
you in advance for your patience and if it does rain, please remember that the
official and I will be just as frustrated as you.
As new developments occur, I will let you know. You can also
view this page for updates.

to play Saturday and/or Sunday at a minimum. Friday will only be
used if the draws are large enough or in the case of forecasted
inclement weather on Saturday or Sunday.

posted.
If a player has any time constraints they must inform the
tournament director before the entry deadline.
