The Junior Division of the 116th Ojai was completed on
Saturday. 450 matches over three days. There were eight finals
played today at Libbey Park. Fantastic tennis by twenty remarkable
young women and men!
Tennis in the Open and College Divisions continues
on Sunday at Libbey. Women's Open finals 9:30am. Men's Open finals
at 11:30. See tournament website for links to schedules and
draws.

careful in interpreting court abbreviations on draw sheets: For
example, V=Villanova Prep, VHS=Ventura High School, OVS is lower
campus, OSU is upper campus.
Players are invited to the free BBQ on Thursday April 21st at
5:30pm at Upper Libbey Park. Lots of fun activities going
on.
The Ojai does not have standard Boys 18 divisions. We
host CIF events in Singles and Doubles.
Junior players may enter only one event. An individual can not play
in both singles and doubles or in both an Open and Junior
event.
In Connection with on-line entry, each player must sign a Waiver of
Responsibility form, which will be sent via email following each
entry.
Sunday April 24 will be utilized as a rain day. Juniors divisions
are held concurrently with the Pac-12 Men's & Women's
Championships, as well as other collegiate and open events.
The Ojai Valley Junior Tournament is proud to be part of the Tennis
Recruiting.net National Showcase series. These tournaments will
count towards Tennis Recruiting.net rankings. Players who compete
in these tournaments and win at least one match will become
NATIONAL PLAYERS for their Tennis Recruiting Ranking.
DRAW SIZE LIMITS FOR 2016 OJAI
The draw size limits for each junior division have been set by the
Ojai Tournament Committee for the 2016 Ojai. These limits are
formulated based on present court availability on Thursday and on
previous years draw sizes:
� Boys CIF division: 64 singles players, 64 doubles teams (selected
by CIF Committee)
� Girls 18's Singles: 32 singles players
� Girls 18's Doubles: 16 doubles teams
� Boys 16's Singles: 64 singles players
� Girls 16's Singles: 48 singles players
� Boys 14's Singles: 64 singles players
� Girls 14's Singles: 48 singles players
If court availability is increased on Thursday, the Tournament
Committee reserves the right to expand all divisions not previously
64 competitors. The selection process is detailed below:
SELECTION PROCESS FOR 2016 OJAI
The 2016 Ojai has entry limits in each one of their events (see
above). In the event that entries are oversubscribed for a
particular event, the following selection process will be
used:
For a 32 draw:
� Step 1: top 26 players will be accepted from the natural age
division
� Step 2: up to 4 spots from the lower age division will be
accepted (player must be in top 100 of that lower division standing
list in order to qualify for these spots.
� Step 3: Tournament Committee will award up to 2 wild cards for
players not accepted in steps 1 or 2. If the Tournament Committee
does not award these, any unused wild card spots will go back to
the natural division.
For a 48 draw:
� Step 1: Top 39 players will be accepted from the natural age
division
� Step 2: up to 6 spots from the lower age division will be
accepted (player must be in top 100 of that lower division standing
list in order to qualify for these spots.
� Step 3: Tournament Committee will award up to 3 wild cards for
players not accepted in steps 1 or 2. If the Tournament Committee
does not award these, any unused wild card spots will go back to
the natural division.
For a 64 draw (please note that this does not apply to CIF
divisions):
� Step 1: top 52 players will be accepted from the natural age
division
� Step 2: up to 8 spots from the lower age division will be
accepted (player must be in top 100 of that lower division standing
list in order to qualify for these spots.
� Step 3: Tournament Committee will award up to 4 wild cards for
players not accepted in steps 1 or 2. If the Tournament Committee
does not award these, any unused wild card spots will go back to
the natural division.
