Texas Tier 4 SCMZ Seeding and Selection on UTR (April, July, August, and December)
Effective immediately, all seeding and selection will be based on Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for the 2016 April, July, August and December Texas Tier 4 Super Champ Major Zones (SCMZ). Doubles seeding and selection will be generated based on the pairings combined UTR. We will no longer be allowing the top 5 players of a younger age group to automatically qualify for the A draw. However, they will have the opportunity to qualify for the A draw based on their UTR. For more information regarding UTR please click "see more."

UTR Selection Timing
Each player's Universal Tennis Rating will be pulled from the system between 8 AM - 12 Noon on Wednesday, July 6th. The UTR's pulled from this time period will be used for the entire pre-tournament process including splitting, seeding, pairing doubles teams, and replacing players.

Doubles Registration
A very important change to note is the correct way to register for doubles online, which will be strictly enforced in 2016 for Super Champ Designated Tournaments. Players may register with or without a partner. Those who register with a partner must indicate their partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after registering, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also registered with them). Tournament Directors will not accept any request for changes in doubles partners at any time. Players who sign up for doubles as individuals will be paired up with another individual based on their UTR. Players must compete in the same age division for singles and doubles.

Awards
First, Second and Third Place medals will be awarded. Consolation winners no longer receive medals. A sportsmanship award is given to the outstanding boy and girl in each designated tournament.
|
Draw Posting
Only first match times and site locations will be posted on the Tuesday prior to the start of the tournament. Draws will be posted on the Thursday prior to the start of the tournament at 6pm. Due to A draw players receiving higher sectional and /or national points for these tournaments, players will be moved from the B draw to the A draw to replace A draw withdrawals based on "Friend at Court" regulations. Tournament Directors will make draw changes due to withdrawals until the prior Thursday at noon. Final draws will be published on the prior Thursday at 6:00pm. All players are responsible for re-checking their draw after Thursday at 6:00pm to make sure their time and location have not changed.

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.
