Tournament Notes for Players
Montgomery TennisPlex Welcomes you to the Plex L8 12 and under tournament
Our tournament will be a non-elimination format with each player having multiple opportunities to play.
Our Girls will start at 9 am on Wednesday.
Our Boys will start at Noon on Wednesday.
Matches will be sets to 5 games no ad scoring.

New Tournament Match Length guidelines for L8 tournaments enable
players to compete with numerous opponents in shorter time frames,
which is outstanding for player development, coaches wishing to
observe their students, busy families and facilities with court
time constraints. Format will be determined by number of entries
and number of courts available. Possible Formats:__L8 =
Timed Matches, SuperSets, Short-Sets, No-Ad Scoring.Draws may be
limited due to court availability.
More players may be selected if play is possible outdoors on April
8. Selection will be by draw not ranking for this entry level
tournament. Entries may close early.

Player Selection Type
Futures Level 8
In Futures Level 8 tournaments kids will experience a fun, friendly, non-elimination introduction to tournament tennis that’s played start to finish in 4 hours or less.
Juniors are welcome and encouraged to continue to participate in Futures Level 8 tournaments until they are winning consecutive matches and winning Futures Level 8 tournaments. (Once a player wins 3 Futures Level 8 tournaments in an age division, or earns a MAS ranking of 90 or better, they are graduated up to Level 7 and above tournaments).
Every kid that participates in a Futures Level 8 tournament earns 50 participation points! These points count toward their MAS standing / ranking and even if they don’t win any matches they get the 50 points. Participation is encouraged!

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, April 05, 2015 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
