DRAW SIZE/PLAYER SELECTION
This tournament will be a 64 draw. If more than 64 players enter, each area association is guaranteed two positions in the draw and the remaining selections will be based upon the most recent Midwest Standings List as of the entry deadline.

2015 OVTA Quota Spots
We have 14 quota spots for the Midwest Closed, twelve are determined by advancement in the district qualifying tournament. The quarterfinalists in the main draw and the quarterfinalists of the consolation tournament are these 12 players (the quarterfinal losers are included in both). The remaining two quota players will be selected based solely upon the player's position on the MIDWEST standings list that was used at the beginning of this tournament.

Email jimhendrix7@gmail.com your confirmation number for the Midwest Closed if you wish to be endorsed. Please also e-mail us if you reached a qualifying spot, i.e. the quarters of the front or the back draw, and know that you do NOT wish to play the Closed as that enables us to endorse another player in your place.

Notes
TOURNAMENT SITE: Matches will be played at Upper
Arlington High School, 1650 Ridgeview Road, Columbus, OH 43221
NOTE 1: Tennis courts are on the north side of the school
building. Courts are on a one way street accessed from Zollinger
Road to the north. NOTE 2: DO NOT use Map It! on the
tournament web site for directions to the tournament site ... you
will end up in a residential area in another part of Columbus. It
you use a mapping program, website, or app, use the address for the
high school listed above.
CONTACT INFORMATION: Starting Friday, June 5, the tournament
contact phone number will be 614-300-0014.
(Do not call 614-899-7120, the number listed in the Organization
information above; this is a private residence not associated with
the tournament.) In case of emergency, call the Racquet Club of
Columbus at 614-457-5671 and they will help contact the tournament
directors or referee.
DRAWS & FIRST MATCH TIMES: Draws and match times for the
first three rounds have been posted. Draws can be found by clicking
on the Draw tab immediately above. Match times are listed on the
draw. IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR MATCH OR MATCH TIME, BE SURE TO CLICK
ON THE LINK FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE DRAW.
PLEASE ARRIVE AND CHECK IN, READY TO PLAY, AT LEAST 15 MINUTES
PRIOR TO YOUR POSTED MATCH TIME.
MATCH SCHEDULE: Weather permitting, we will play 2 rounds of
singles in the main draw, 1 round of consolation singles, and play
at least 1 round of doubles on the first day. The quarterfinal and
semifinal main draw matches will both play on the third day. The
consolation finals will not be played. Players may still be
competing on TUESDAY. Matches begin at 8:00am each day.
DOUBLES: We encourage all players to play doubles. Doubles
sign-up will take place on Saturday (you must sign up for doubles
on site, even if you have signed up online.) Doubles sign-up
deadline is 2:00pm Saturday, June 6. If you do not have a partner,
just let us know and we will help find one. Again, please
consider playing doubles!!!
SCORING: All singles matches will be the best of 3 sets,
with a match tie-breaker in lieu of a third set. Doubles matches
will play an 8-game pro set, with a 12-point tie break at
7-all.
IN THE EVENT OF RAIN: In the event of rain, matches will be
played at the Racquet Club of Columbus, 1100 Bethel Road, Columbus,
OH 43220. All decisions concerning indoor play will be made by the
tournament director and tournament referee. For indoor matches,
players will be charged $10 per player per match for singles and $5
per player per match for doubles.
PRACTICE COURTS: We have not made arrangements to use the
Upper Arlington High School courts for practice on Friday, June 5
... they may or may not be available.

The closest (a few blocks) hotel is the recently opened Homewood
