MATCH CHECK-IN
The
tournament desk will be in the West Annex, upstairs. Please check-in with the Tournament Desk at
least 15 minutes prior to each scheduled match (30 minutes before 1st
match) so that we know you are on-site and will be ready to play when your
match is called. You will need to be within hearing distance of the Tournament
Desk at match time. Matches will not be put out early unless both players agree
to it. The USTA Point Penalty System for Lateness for Match rules are in effect
for this tournament. Please do not be late!
TENTATIVE MATCH TIMES
All
match times posted for the 2nd round and beyond are TENTATIVE. At the end of each match, both players must
report scores to the tournament desk and receive a match card with their next
scheduled match time on it. Minimum rest time between matches is 1 hour.

Warm-up/Practice Courts
Please read the all of the information below before calling!Please reserve your Friday evening and Saturday practice courts by noon on Friday. At that time we will release unreserved practice courts to members. A credit card (Visa, M/C or Discover) is required at time of reservation to hold your court. You may pay in cash when you come in.
Friday Night Players may reserve up to 1 hour of court time at $14 per hour. Courts are available 6-9 pm with reservations on the hour or half hour.
Saturday Players may reserve ½ hour court between 8 and 9 am for $7 per half hour court.
Or
9 am - 2 pm there are limited courts available so players may be required to share warm up courts. We will place up to 4 players per court and players are limited to ½ hour of court time. There is also no guarantee that there will be others desiring a warm up court at the same time you do so be prepared with a parent/coach to hit with if needed. Players will be charged based on the number of players assigned to the court (1 player - $7, 2 players - $3.5 each, 3 or 4 players - $2.50 each).
Sunday There will be free 1/2 hour warm up courts before matches between 7 and 8 am Sunday, reservations will not be required. Reservations for warm up courts for later than 8 am Sunday will be available after your last match on Saturday at the welcome center. Please help us manage the courts by checking in at the welcome center and getting your court reservation card. Please do not go on any court without a court reservation card. Please do not bring additional players to the shared courts on Saturday without checking at the welcome center for space availability as there may already be four on the court.

Player Selection
Player selection will be done based on the following criteria: 1 – Eight (8) players from the top 100 of the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in next lower division. 2 – 56 players from the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the current age division of the event.

Scoring
The Singles Main Draw will play best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets and Consolation will play regular scoring in best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point super tiebreak in lieu of a third set. The Consolation round stops at the semi-finals.

Awards
Trophies will be given to the following players: Champion, Finalist, 3rd & 4th place, and FIC Semi-Finalists. In addition, a Sportsmanship trophy will be awarded.

USTA/Midwest Section Domicile Rules:
The USTA/Midwest Section Closed Junior Championships, the district qualifiers, the USTA/Midwest Section Designated Tournaments and USTA/Midwest Section Junior Davis and Wightman Cup events are open to citizens of the US, permanent resident aliens in possession of a valid alien registration card, individuals who are applicants for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status and who can present a USCIS receipt for a pending unadjudicated form I-485, aliens who have resided continuously in the US for more than one year and who are members of families of persons in the diplomatic or consular corps and aliens who have been granted Refugee Status, Asylee Status or Temporary Protected Status.

TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWAL INSTRUCTIONS
All tournament withdrawals prior to the entry deadline must be done on this site ((see Edit Registration). For all tournament withdrawals after the entry deadline, please call Cindy Vickery at 989-631-6151, Extension 176. We will also need an email with the written description of the withdrawal, sent to Cindy Vickery at cvickery@midlandtennis.com. The written withdrawal must include player name, USTA number, a detailed reason for the withdrawal, and a phone number. All withdrawals for injury or illness will require written verification from a medical professional to be received by the Tournament Director no later than noon on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. There will no be refunds issued for withdrawals received after the draws have been completed.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Friday, January 2, 2015 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
