Revised Weekend Schedule and Tournament Info - Dec 21
We have decided to adjust the Saturday matches back a few hours to allow everyone more time to travel in after the holiday week.
Saturday Schedule We will begin at noon on Saturday with Round of 32 and Round of 16 main draw then first round of consolation. There are many byes in the round of 32 so most players will have only one singles match Saturday. The last singles matches should go on around 3 pm unless we have some long matches.
We will begin doubles at 5 pm (earlier if all players are ready to play) and play the first two rounds.
Sunday Schedule Matches will begin at 9 am with two rounds of main draw and two rounds of consolation play followed by doubles. We should finish the doubles on Sunday,.
Monday Matches will begin at 9 am with main draw finals and 3/4 playoff and semifinals and finals of consolation. I hope that this information helps with your planning and we'll try to stick with it as much as possible. As you all know, long matches can impact the schedule!
Practice Courts If you have reserved a court and would like to change the time please let me know, otherwise you are welcome to reserve at anytime. With the holidays and the small draw size we will open up practice court reservations now. You may call and reserve Friday and Saturday courts – no restrictions on time or length of court. Prepayment is required at the time of the reservation. We are open until 8 pm on Friday and open at 8 am on Saturday.
Sunday courts will be available to reserve on Saturday and we will have plenty available.
Doubles Tuesday afternoon we will randomly pair players left in the doubles draw without a partner.
First match times will be released on Wednesday at the latest, more likely Tuesday evening. Through the end of Wednesday please contact me with questions, withdrawals, etc (email is the best way - cvickery@midlandtennis.com).
Talaya Schilb will be the tournament director on site for this event and she can be reached at stevens@midlandtennis.com. Once the tournament begins please call the welcome center at 989-631-6151 and ask to be connected to the tournament desk.

REMINDER: THIS IS A FOUR DAY EVENT
This tournament goes from Saturday to Tuesday and you are expected to finish
this event. If parents MUST go to work, if you have a vacation scheduled , then
do NOT sign up for this event EVEN if you think you will not "make
it" to Tuesday. We are going to be playing at an even pace and not with
several matches in a day. We expect all of you to play doubles too. You must be
Injured, Ill or there must be an Emergency for you to withdraw. The USTA
Referee will be asking for Doctor's proof on all Withdraws during this Midwest
Elevated Event.
IMPORTANT
DOUBLES TEAMS AND PAIRINGS
We strongly encourage all players to compete in doubles. We have shortened the
scoring to Pro Sets and at most sites we will start the day with doubles to
prevent long days. Even if you do not have a partner PLEASE register for
doubles when you are registering for singles as this ensures your name will
appear and not have to be manually entered later. There are two options
available to you if you cannot find a partner on your own.
Option #1- We can help you find a partner but Privacy Laws and USTA rules
prohibit us from giving out your contact information to other players. You will
need to give us permission via email cvickery@midlandtennis.com and permit us to give
out your contact information.
Option #2- You can ask to be paired at random with another player by emailing
cvickery@midlandtennis.com. NOTE: This is not a guarantee because if there are an
odd number of players wanting to be paired, one player will not have a partner.
We recommend and prefer that you find your own doubles partner or take
advantage of Option #1.
PLEASE PROVIDE ALL CONTACT INFORMATION WHEN
YOU REGISTER The
USTA Legal Department has determined that they cannot provide contact
information to tournament directors unless the customer provides the contact
information during the registration process. If you don't provide an e-mail
address and/or telephone number when you register for this tournament we will
be unable to notify you about any important changes that may occur in the
tournament.

Entering Multiple Elevated Tournaments
Starting in 2013, the Midwest Section began allowing for some multiple tournament registrations for tournaments that run concurrently, for specific levels of tournaments, in order to provide players as much opportunity as possible to try and compete in higher levels and/or higher age divisions of tournaments. HOWEVER, there are specific rules for these multiple registrations, and players who do not follow the rules are subject to the loss of entry fee(s) and/or the application of 5 suspension points. The complete written Midwest Section Multiple Tournament Entry Process document can be found by clicking on the 'more info' link below – PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ IT BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. If you have ANY questions at all, or are unsure of the interpretation of the rules, please contact the Tournament Director for clarification BEFORE you register for more than one tournament.
