2015 OVTA Quota Spots
We have 14 quota spots for the Midwest Closed, twelve are determined by advancement in the district qualifying tournament. The quarterfinalists in the main draw and the quarterfinalists of the consolation tournament are these 12 players (the quarterfinal losers are included in both). The remaining two quota players will be selected based solely upon the player's position on the MIDWEST standings list that was used at the beginning of this tournament.

After the event starts
Send us your confirmation number for the Midwest Closed if you wish to be endorsed. Please also e-mail us if you reached a qualifying spot, i.e. the quarters of the front or the back draw, and know that you do NOT wish to play the Closed as that enables us to endorse another player in your place.

DRAW SIZE/PLAYER SELECTION
This tournament will be a 64 draw. If more than 64 players enter, each area association is guaranteed two positions in the draw and the remaining selections will be based upon the most recent Midwest Standings List as of the entry deadline.

RAIN
THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT. IF...in the event of rain we must go indoors to complete the tournament on time, there will be a charge of $10 per player per match for singles and $5 per player per match for doubles.

MATCH FORMAT / SCHEDULE OF PLAY
Singles will be draws of 64, FIC through the quarterfinals with playoffs for 3/4 place. Doubles will be draws of 32, single elimination. All singles matches will be 2 tiebreak sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Doubles will be 8 game pro sets. Weather permitting, we will play 2 rounds of main draw singles, 1 round of consolation singles and the first round of doubles on Saturday. Singles main draw quarters and semis will both be played on the third day. The singles consolation final will not be played.

REFUND POLICY / WITHDRAWALS
There will be NO REFUNDS for any reason after the draw has been made.
|
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, May 31, 2015 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
