MONDAY TENNIS MATCHES - ON AS SCHEDULED
All tennis matches that are scheduled for Monday, February 2nd will be played at their normal scheduled match time. The Maple YMCA facility will be open for warm up courts at 7am. All players are report at their scheduled time.
The local news will be broadcasting that the YMCA will be closed until noon. However, the Maple YMCA will open for the tennis tournament by 7am and all matches will be played as scheduled. All matches are scheduled at the Maple YMCA.

SNOW PREDICTED FOR SUNDAY
Please make appropriate travel arrangements to make it to your site on time for Sunday Matches. Snow is predicted overnight on Saturday 1/31 through the day on Sunday 2/1 in the Kalamazoo area. All players are required to be on time for their scheduled matches.

Player Selection
Player selection will be done based on the following criteria: 1 – Eight (8) players from the top 100 of the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in next lower division. 2 – 56 players from the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the current age division of the event.
Selections will be made on Monday, January 19th. Selections and number alternates list will be posted by 6pm on January 19th.

Scoring
The Singles Main Draw will play best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets and Consolation will play regular scoring in best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point super tiebreak in lieu of a third set. The Consolation round stops at the semi-finals.

The tournament hotel is the Holiday Inn West ( 2747 South 11th Street, Kalamazoo MI 49009, 269-375-6000) which is also located in between all of the sites. The rate for the room reservation is $99. The tournament hotel is the Radison located in downtown Kalamazoo. This hotel is located in the center of the three facilities used for the tournament. Restaurants located inside the hotel as well as walking distance around the hotel. Rooms can be booked for a discounted rate of $129 per night. Warm-up/Practice Courts
Warm up courts will be available at Maple YMCA and Portage YMCA for $10 per 1/2 hour. Court fees are due at reservation time and no refunds will be given. Warm up courts may be reserved starting Wednesday January 28th at 8am.

Additional warm up courts may be available at West Hills by calling 269-387-0410. Court fees at West Hills may be different from those offered at Maple YMCA and Portage YMCA.

First match times will be available on the Wednesday before the tournament begins by 6PM.
Come back to this page and click on the blue “Future Match Info Report” to find out your first time as well as your Win/Loss time (W/L). Please be careful when reading this. The W/L times are in parentheses. Players from the same district will not play each other first round unless an alternate fills a spot or more than half the draw is from the same district.

Order of Play:
Saturday: 2 rounds of main draw and 1 round of consolation singles beginning at 8am Sunday: 2 rounds of main draw and 3 rounds of consolation singles beginning at 8am Monday: 2 rounds of main draw and 2 rounds of consolation singles beginning at 9am

Awards
Trophies will be given to the following players: Champion, Finalist, 3rd & 4th place, and FIC Semi-Finalists. In addition, a Sportsmanship trophy will be awarded.

USTA/Midwest Section Domicile Rules:
The USTA/Midwest Section Closed Junior Championships, the district qualifiers, the USTA/Midwest Section Designated Tournaments and USTA/Midwest Section Junior Davis and Wightman Cup events are open to citizens of the US, permanent resident aliens in possession of a valid alien registration card, individuals who are applicants for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status and who can present a USCIS receipt for a pending unadjudicated form I-485, aliens who have resided continuously in the US for more than one year and who are members of families of persons in the diplomatic or consular corps and aliens who have been granted Refugee Status, Asylee Status or Temporary Protected Status.
