Events - Alternates by Event

Courts are drying and matches will continue at 2pm. Draw times have been adjusted and are now posted.

The rain continues but looks to stop in 20 minutes or so. Singles matches will not begin before 2pm. Doubles matches are now cancelled. Check back for the next update at 1pm.

Play is suspended and will not begin before 12noon. Check for an update Monday 11am.

No changes - the courts are dry.

3 sites will be used Friday for doubles, 4 sites on Saturday and Sunday and 1 site on Monday. Check the draw for your match locations and times.

Alternates are welcome provided they do not invalidate the seedings. Check in at the tournament desk for first round matches to see if a main draw player does not show up on time. If more than one alternate is on site when a first round main draw player is not there on time, then an alternate will be chosen based on their ranking order.

SATURDAY: 2 rounds of Main Draw, 1 round FIC. SUNDAY: 2 rounds Main Draw, 3 rounds FIC. MONDAY: 2 rounds Main Draw, 3 rounds FIC.

If you are near the top of the alternate list, please double check your contact information on your USTA account for accuracy. It is the only way we have to contact you.

Draws will be 64 players with a Feed In Consolation thru the round of 16 format. The quarterfinalist losers go into their own backdraw and playoff for 5th and 6th place. There is no playoff for 7th and 8th place. Main Draw will play the best two out of three tie-break sets. Feed In will be the best of three sets playing a 10 point match tie break in lieu of third set. Main Draw will play two rounds each day. The Feed In draws will play one match on Saturday, three matches on Sunday and three on Monday. In the event of inclement weather, match format is subject to change.

Do not enter two tournaments at the same time. How to avoid Penalties: If you end up on the alternate list, you must with-draw from the alternate list first and then enter the 2nd event. Tournaments have different deadlines that will allow you time to make your changes: more info

March 15 at 11:59pm or before-->Withdraw online. March 16 or later-->email your withdrawal to david.bell@raleighnc.gov. Do not call. Withdrawals after March 21 11:59pm - No refund. You must email to david.bell@raleighnc.gov. Defaulting during the tournament - You must see the trainer and get approval from the Referee. Do not tell anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted, unless you speak to the Referee, it will be counted as a "NO SHOW".

Sandwiches and drinks will be delivered to each site before 12 noon Saturday and Sunday.

All matches will use Dunlop Championship Hard Court Balls.

There will be a stringer available at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center during the tournament.

There will be a trainers on site at Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center, Optimist Park, Lions Park and Biltmore Hills during the tournament. Remember that if you default due to an injury during the tournament, you have to speak directly to the Head Referee. Speaking to anyone else will result in a "Default-No Show" for your match.

Seeding is done using the selection list which is based on the standing list immediately after the deadline of this event.

An ORDERED ALTERNATES REPORT will be posted above. This is the order you will be contacted for any open spots. If you accept a spot, you must call in with your credit card number or overnight a check to cover your entry fee. Since you were not selected in the initial batch, your original credit card was never processed. An Alternate will not be listed as a Competitor until the entry fee has been received.

Top 64 players applying from the USTA/Southern latest STANDINGS LIST. 56 players from this age group will be selected and up to 8 players from the younger age group who are eligible from the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 80 of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 56, will be selected. The names of the player who have been selected will appear as COMPETITORS. Alternates are listed in the REPORT SECTION. DO NOT REFER TO THE ALTERNATES TAB ON TOP OF THE WEB PAGE (That list is not updated).

Even though the 12's and 14's and being held in Cary under a different tournament code this weekend, it is still part of this tournament. So, you may enter the 14's and 16's without penalty.

Players are allowed to enter two divisions in with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. They would be removed from the Alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division woud be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made. *Please note this is for this tournament only and does not mean you can enter more than one tournament for the same dates. This is not offered in Southern Open or Closed Championships.
