All matches will be played at Highland Park on Tuesday. Match times for Tuesday are NOW finalized as of 7:50pm Monday.

PRACTICE COURTS
ALL courts are first come-first serve. 4 to a court-please! Practice courts are available starting at 7am on Saturday & Sunday for the following sites: HPTC, GCC, RCC & BCC. ICC will NOT have courts until 8am on Saturday & Sunday. PTCC will NOT have courts until 11:00am for Saturday.
Highland Park will have practice courts all day on Friday. First come - first serve. The YMCA facilities at Mtn Brook (205-445-2862) and Greystone (205-981-0144) have clay courts available to Y members from out of town. Lifetime Fitness (205-547-3100) has clay courts available to Lifetime members from out of town. You must call the facilities to book your courts. Also, there are numerous public hard facilities throughout the city. George Ward Park & Ensley Tennis Center.

REGISTRATION
Mandatory check-in for the tournament will be on Friday, September 4th, from 10 AM to 7:00 PM (CST) at Player's Choice Tennis, 2800 Cahaba Village Plaza, # 180, Birmingham, AL 35243, 205-985-4989. If you are absolutely unable to make the Friday check-in, you must check-in at Highland Park Tennis Center on Saturday at least an hour and half before your first match. If you checked in on Friday, report directly to your site 30 minutes prior to your match time on Saturday. Please have the Medical Release Form filled out and signed by a parent/guardian with you at check-in.

Entering Two Divisions:
Players are allowed to enter two divisions in Southern
Levels 1A, 2, and 3 tournaments.
#1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for
will automatically be selected in the older age division. They would be removed
from the other age division.
#2. Players not selected to either division would remain
on the alternates lists for both division but would be obligated to play the
division they first get in from the alternates list. They would be removed from
the Alternates list in the other division.
#3. Players selected to one age division would be removed
from the alternates list of the division they were not selected.
#4. Once a player is selected for any one division no
changes can be made.

BIRTH CERTIFICATE or GREEN CARD

Tournament selections will processed tomorrow, Tuesday. Along with all late entries.

SELECTION PROCESS FOR LEVEL 1A
Draw size will be 128, Saturday through Tuesday. These events
will be on clay. Players will be
selected off the Southern Standing. Players
from lower division will be considered on their lower division standing. 1/8
of the draw is taken from the younger age players in the top 80 who are still eligible
in the younger age group.

MEDICAL RELEASE & PARENTAL ALERT FORM
The USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of the tournament registration. Please download and bring this form completed with you to check-in. Players are not allowed on court without this signed release:

FORMAT
128 draw for both single divisions. FIC through the RD of 16 with Quarterfinal playoff. In 1A Championships, the quarterfinalist losers automatically go into their own back draw. The four losers will play and then the two winners for 5th & 6th place. The 7th & 8th place do not play.
Doubles divisions consist of 64 teams. SE for doubles draw. 8 game pro set will be played with a tie break at 8 games all. A 3/4 playoff shall be played in both singles and doubles.

SCORING FORMAT
Main Draw Singles: Best 2 of 3 Sets. Consolation Singles: 10 point Tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Doubles: SE 8-game Pro Set with at 7 point tiebreak at 8 games all.

SEEDING INFOMATION - NEW PROCEDURE
In an effort to provide greater transparency and understanding of
how USTA Southern seeds will be determined for USTA Southern L 1, 1A and 2
events, FAC (Friend at Court) method II.A.4.b., which provides for a
computerized system of rankings or standings. The Junior Competition Committee approved
the below chart that the Tournament Seeding Committees, with assistance from
the USTA Southern staff, shall utilize to determine seeds.

Tropical Smoothie will provide smoothies between 11.00 am and Noon for all players on Saturday.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, August 23, 2015 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
