ABOUT MARTI RODRIGUEZ: Marti Rodriguez kept the USTA Texas
Section office organized and focused from 1983 until she began her
battle with cancer in 2005. Marti had the total trust of each
person in the tennis world as well as with the rest of her world
and family. She was the resident expert of style, grace, rankings
and punctuation in the Texas Section office. After a nearly
two-year battle with cancer, our beloved Marti Rodriguez passed
away on April 17, 2007. Marti was loved and respected by everyone,
without exception. The Capital Area Tennis Association and the USTA
Texas Section are happy to name the Austin ZAT after Marti
Rodriguez. Promoting tennis at all levels was always a passion of
Marti Rodriguez.

10 & Under – USTA Texas regulations mandate that all junior sanctioned tournaments offer 10 & Under Orange Ball Division (orange ball, 60 foot court and 25 inch racquet) and 10 & Under Green Ball Division (green ball, 78 foot court and 27 inch racquet). For the full 10 & under regulation, please visit our website www.texas.usta.com, click on 10 & Under Tennis.

First-off Consolation – All Challengers and CMZs use the First Off Consolation Format. This format will show as Single Elimination on the tournament homepage, but all players are guaranteed two matches. This format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. How does it work? Players that lose in the main draw will be fed into the consolation draw in the order that they come off the court (i.e. the first player to come off the court will go on line one, the sixth player to come off the court will go on line six). This new format ensures more players playing on Saturday and an overall better tournament.
|
Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."
|
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Monday, June 29, 2015 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
In the future, you can jump straight to this tournament by entering the tournament identification number: 800004615 from the searchable schedule homepage.
